My Critter Catcher Explorer Kids Bug and Critter Catching Kit

This is the second time I've purchased one of these. The first one broke immediately after I got the spider outside, so I'm not giving 5 stars for durability. That said, this works like a charm. I bought it again because two spiders have taken up home in a window and I didn't have the heart to kill them. Already got one relocated to a shed. This scooped her right up and held her in place till I was ready to put her down. She was confused, but unharmed.

Got this for my wife so she wouldn't feel the need to get me everytime there was a bug in the house and she has loved it (as well as the kids). They love grabbing the catcher and grabbing whatever bug they may find. My wife also appreciates that it doesn't kill the bugs and she can just throw them outside where they can continue their life in more appropriate locations.I do wish it was longer because you do need to be quite up close and personal with the critters before you can reach them.It also can't catch everything, super small bugs and stronger bugs that can climb out can cause it problems.

My hubby has a pet Tarantula called Eddie. Feeding him crickets using tongs ends up with them being squished and injured, dead or escaped into my house when he dropped them. I bought this and now he can grab them without hurting them. He can also remove them from Eddies tank when he doesn’t want to feed. I just wish there was a tiny one to make life even easier, but all the same, I’m VERY glad to have this. It’s great!

I know this is designed for kids but as an adult I have to say this is a life saver for people who is sacred of spiders. I can easily grab the spiders in the house and release them outside. Such a great tool to keep bugs out of the house without killing them. It doesn’t work for little bug though. Little bugs will be able to escape from the gaps.

I bought this to relocate my house spiders. We have quite a few daddy longlegs and most of the time I don't mind a few spiders in the house. We do not use any pesticides and I am not fond of killing anything. This makes it easy to grab the little one and transport outside. I am not sure how sturdy this is - it is of plastic but I have used it a few times and the spiders were unharmed and it was easy to use.

We have wasps that get in our house, so I bought this in hopes of catching them. It grabbed the wasp but only for a short period before it escaped. What made it difficult was that I could only get to the wasp when it crawled on a window, so only the very ends grabbed it, and not very tight, which allowed the wasp to wiggle free EVERY TIME, leaving me with a pissed off wasp! The wasp and/or bug would have to be pretty big for this to work, and even then, I'd be nervous about them getting free since the fibers on this are slick, flexible plastic without any grip (like silicone would have). Unfortunately, I'm returning mine and going with another handheld thing with a door that shuts after the bug is inside, so there's no way for it to get out.Update: I haven't found any bug catching device that actually work. You're better off just using a cup with a piece of paper to trap it or a vacuum.

Got this to bug hunt with my daughter. It has no problem catching bugs so long as there isn't an obstacle (such as the surface isn't flat).This clearly was designed for indoor use but does a reasonable job so long as you can get the bug to an open spot. I had trouble catching anything that instinctively dropped that was on a wall (so, most things that don't fly).

I was skeptical when l got it a few years back, but it works just as advertised. I was able to pick up ants, spiders, stink bugs. This is my second wand. I would recommend it.
