Precious!
This book is precious! We got it for our godson for his baptism and it's such a sweet book about letting your light show. Strongly recommend this book! He's still a baby. But, it would fit for ages 2-6, I'd imagine. So, we expect him to grow into reading it.

A great book to teach that all kids are unique and beautiful in their own ways
"Firenze's Light" is an inspiring story for kids to help them realize that they are special in their own ways. Firenze is a little firefly who loves many things, but she does not like her light because it always glows at very inconvenient times. She is very embarrassed by the light shining at the wrong times and she becomes very frustrated at her light. Her mother tries to tell her that her light makes her unique, but Firenze doesn't listen. She tries to cover up her light. While with her friend, she tries to pretend she does not have a light. What she does not realize is that her light was helpful to her friends and they miss the light when she does not let it shine. When her friends tell her to come out from hide-and-seek because it's too hard to find her without her light, she flies away in frustration. She meets a different bug who tries to encourage her that she is special and should be proud of her gift of beautiful light. Will she learn to love her light? This is a sweet book that can encourage kids to be themselves and be thankful for their differences and not be embarrassed about their appearances. It can help kids realize that all kids are unique and beautiful in their own ways. It would be a good book for kids around ages 4-8.

children's book
Firenze’s mother told her your light makes you unique.Follow Firenze (feisty firefly) discovers what her light power can do for others.I did not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing this book. While I receive free books from publishers & authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review. Only an honest one.A very awesome book cover, great colored pictures & proper font & writing style. A very well written children’s educational story book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great children’s educational movie, an class PP presentation, an animated cartoon, or better yet a mini TV series. There is no doubt in my mind this is a very easy rating of 5 stars.Thank you for the free author; Shine Your Light Books; 1 edition; BookSends; BookBub; Amazon Digital Services LLC.; bookTony Parsons MSW (Washburn)

Accepting to shine
Firenze, the Firefox likes a lot of things in the world. But there is one thing she absolutely doesn’t like, the light coming out of her body. Even after her mom tells her that this light is in fact, making her Unique, Firenze hates it. Therefor she frequently covers herself with leaves so the light can’t get through it.When Firerenze had in mind that her light disturbed her friends when they went to the movies, when they play hide and seek, and other moments, she now finds out that these friends ask her help to find something in the dark, and Gnatalie was afraid in the dark and hoped Firenze helped with shining her light... But still Firenze didn’t like it.After a seek and find, her friends couldn’t see her anymore, and in her sadness she flew far away. Suddenly she saw Kirie the Beetle creating his masterpiece while using his pincers. Kirie understood Firenze’s sadness, before he discovered all the beauty he can create with his pincers, he didn’t like them neither. A few days later, Kirie send a package to Firenze. He had designed a skirt for her and asked her to come tomorrow to his show. ‘Your light is a gift,’ he wrote, ‘let it shine!’ What happens at the show, you have to find out yourself in this amazing book with wonderful illustrations!

Adorable with Great Message
I wish I'd had a book like this as a child! The art is adorable and beautiful - especially in how it almost really seems to glow when Firenze does. There are little puns for the adults to appreciate, such as Gnatalie. And, of course, the message is a very good one - portrayed in a refreshingly realistic manner. For the sake of curious parents/guardians, I'm providing a general plot outline. Obviously, it contains 'spoilers.'Firenze hates the glow which makes her unique, so she decides to hide it. Her mother encourages her to embrace her unique trait, but Firenze is so embarrassed by how it makes her stand out that she hides it regardless. Her friends miss how she used to help them and enrich their lives with her glow, but she runs away and meets a bug who makes art with his pincers. He encourages her by saying he used to hate his pincers as well, but Firenze - like anyone in real life with her issue - says she wishes she could embrace her glow but simply can't. So her new friend makes her a beautiful piece of art to wear, which makes her glow cast patterns everywhere. She gains confidence from all the praise and learns to love herself.

Beautifully written and illustrated book about appreciating one’s gifts
I really enjoyed the story. It is a sweet story about a firefly that does not like it’s light and does everything to cover it up. Everyone tells her that her light is special, but the firefly doesn’t agree. It isn’t until she meets a beetle that the firefly realizes she is special and has a gift. A wonderful read. Great flow from beginning to end. I kept reading and reading. The illustrations are beautiful.

What the book teaches my son
Firenze's Light has become my 5 year old son's favorite. He wants me to read it every night aside from the other book(s} we read. I'm teaching him to read, so this book has been great helping him to read certain parts of the story that he loves while I read the rest. Also, the book has given me the opportunity to talk to my son about how each person has his/her own "light" (gifts) and how we can bless people with them.

Good book bad publishing
The content is very good. But production is bad. In a fairly large phone, I had a hard time reading the tiny letters.

An Encouraging Story About Accepting Who You Are
PLOT: All that Firenze, the firefly, wants is to be normal like her friends, a bunch of adorable and kind bugs. Instead, Firenze is different, because she has a shiny behind that gets her into trouble now and then. Thus, Firenze tries to hide her light as best as she can. Will Firenze discover in time that her light is part of who she really is and that it is as loveable as she is herself?REVIEW: This was one of the first books from the indie community that the boys and me immediately loved. The text is well written, the main character and her drama are relatable, and the illustrations are adorable—colourful, heart-warming, and witty—and perfectly support the story. Last but not least, the message of the importance of self-love and of feeling socially accepted by family & friends is of great value yet it is delivered in a sweet and subtle way.
