Great product

Installed 6.29.21 on 1996 Buick Roadmaster Estate Wagon @163,800 mi. Fit perfect. Ltd lifetime warranty.Needed gasket shellac to hold gaskets in place during install.

Initial review: It didn't even last two years before coolant was pouring out the weep hole. The bearing is still smooth and tight, so the seal is simply junk. I ordered another to replace it thinking that the "lifetime warranty" would make things easy. Good luck having that honored. I contacted Gates directly. They told me that within the first year, I could have returned it to Amazon, but after that, you're required to fill out a bunch of paperwork and ship it back to Gates with receipts, invoices, etc. at your own expense, and within a couple of months, they might decide if it qualifies for warranty. Hahaha..... At least these pumps easy to replace. I preemptively bought a different one elsewhere for when this replacement starts leaking.Update 3/27/2025: Less than two months later, the replacement Gates water pump is dumping coolant. I contacted Amazon, and I'm sending it back for a refund. I already checked the water pump driveshaft on the front cover of the engine and made sure nothing is wrong with it that could be causing a problem with the pump, so these Gates pumps apparently have junk seals.

This is an exact replacement pump for LT1 and 4.3 V8 engines, seems like a good pump, Took care of my leak.

Gates quality. A complex part to manufacture at this price.

Fit my 1994 Chevrolet Caprice Classic with the L99 4.3L V8(LT1 family engine). Came with the gaskets to mount to the block and the hoses, t-stat/housing, and temp sensor fit as they should. The alignment holes fit on the pegs on the block and the splined pump shaft fit the collar on the end of the distributor as it should.

UPDATE 12/29/2020:*A year later and it's starting to weep oil! For the price, it's worth buying again. Wouldn't pay anymore than that. All parts eventually fail.*I received this in orderly fashion. Same day! Can't beat that with a bat and MC Hammer with a hammer can't touch that!!Its the same as my original. I haven't installed it yet, but plan on doing it Sunday. It's actually BRAND NEW. Everything is in tact with gaskets and o-ring. Will update after installing and will also update the longevity.. 1994 Buick Roadmaster with LT1 engine
