For a couple days we reviewed all the automatic feeders online. The `Crown Majestic Platinum Series Dog and Cat Automatic Pet Feeder` was always at the top two as we searched most importantly because we had a small kitten and needed a machine that could give small 1/8 of a cup servings!!We chose the "Crown Majestic Automatic Pet Feeder however when we received it there were a couple bugs with the timing and the portions coming out. I emailed the company and they (Carl) called me the very next morning when they arrived at work. I explained the situation and they immediately replaced that one. The bugs were just a fluke...They were very Understanding, Friendly & Professional!!As soon as it arrived we documented the feeding times and amounts and it ended up working "Perfectly"!Our kitten was the runt of the litter so small timed portions were a must and you cannot find a better, dependable auto feeder!The Water Bottle is a Amazing Idea and Attachment!Our daughter had come home for a brief visit and she is ordering one for her cat and dog as they are both professionals and are gone for a couple days at times and they wont have to have their neighbors come by to feed their pets anymore!It is a very Outstanding product, our kitten loves it and we definitely highly recommend this automatic feeder!~W.W.W.~ *USMC-Ret*

I have used this type of feeder before and knew it would meet my need for Jazz, my cat. I selected this model because it has the water dispenser. I like having one unit verses the feeder and still needing to have a second bowl of water to refill every day.The PROS- Timed feeding and how much, which helps when you are feeding more than one. The dish is removable from the unit for easy washing. The surprise I love is you can record your voice calling your kitty to come eat. Something I do every day. As I was setting up the unit and recording, my Jazz came running know what the call meant.CONs- the device they use to attach the water dish to the feeding dish is not good. I finally gave up and just placed them without the attachment piece. Also the portion size is tiny. I worked with it but with two cats you may have to crank it up to full portions and feed more often.I am really pleased overall. It just arrived today so if I find it doesnt work right, I will be back. As of today, I love and recommend this product from the others I am familiar with.The only reason I did not give it a five star is the force of expelling the cat food into the tray is not enough to push it past the flap door until it builds up several batches.

I had high hopes for this product, but boy was I in for it. Got this delivered Tuesday night and by Thursday night my 17 pound dachshund had chewed off the flimsy plastic piece covering the chute. I was horrified when I found it in the floor when I arrived home. He could have swallowed it or choked on it! But that was only the beginning! I was in for a night of listening to dry heaving and wanting to be let out all night due to constipation. I took him to the vet the next morning and paid $250 for an xray to show me a bloated belly full of 3 times the amount of food it should be. He was apparently able to gorge himself on food just from chewing off the flimsy plastic piece. I didn't know he had eaten that much since there was still food remaining in the hopper. $90 for the feeder, $250 for the vet bill, and out 3 hours of work to take him. That plastic piece is too flimsy and too easy to get off. He's a 17 pound dog, not a Great Dane!

It works OK. I programmed 2 feeding times, one for testing (not portion testing, which only does "1/4 cup"). It worked. Then when I tried to remove the 2nd feeding time, it would show that it was removed on the display but continue to dispense at that time. No amount of resetting worked - the factory reset doesn't work (it would still have all the same settings). Even after contacting the manufacturer, the factory resetting button sequence doesn't do anything. The "1/4 cup" portion is also about 3/8ths (a heaping 1/4 cup). I already adjusted the kibble dispensing size to the smallest notch; I use cat kibble from Purina so it could be a little smaller than ideal which would explain the over-sized portions. I ended up having to return it. It could be a single item defect.

This automatic pet food dispenser is a priceless addition to any home, especially with overweight cats or for those who are away from home for extended periods in the day and don't want to free feed. It is easy to program with a few buttons and an LCD screen on the front. You can choose from 1/8 to 1 cup portion sizes from 1-4 times a day. Portions are delivered at specifically set times. You can record a message that plays at each dispensing if you want to alert your pet that it is mealtime. The main food dish is easy to clean metal that is easy to remove. The water dish is a little awkward to clean. It fits tightly next to the main feeding portion with a curved design and has a Lego-style peg and groove attachment that is not easy to line up. The water bottle is only 16 oz, so with 2 cats, the bottle needs to be filled 1-2 times a day. So, while the feeding is ok for days, the water needs to be tended to daily. The dispenser runs on AC or DC power. We have had the same batteries installed since we received it 7 months ago and have not had to change the batteries yet. The build quality is excellent. I would definitely recommend.
