Beautiful book but I feel it's meant for older children than 8

Perhaps intended more for the younger reader. it nevertheless is an interesting slipcase book with fold-outs and lift-out facsimile documents. The emphasis is on the times in which W.S. lived, rather than his life itself, but that's not a bad thing. If the younger reader, thinks that W.S. is a dry subject, this might help them take a different view.
