The slider clamp is adjustable with a 3mm straight blade screwdriver (which we all carry) but the pressure along the slide is inconsistent. I loosens as it is extended.

A very useful measuring device when playing pétanque (French boule). The cost is well below that available on a pétanque retail website. Fits nicely in coat pocket, more accurate than a tape measure.
