Best biscuit mix ever!
My family loves this biscuit mix. Easy to use, tastes great every time. We tried it on vacation in GA and loved it, but it's difficult to find in FL grocery stores. Luckily we found it on amazon! Similar texture to Red Lobster cheddar bay biscuits.

Very quick, easy and well received. Sad to retire my old "from scratch" recipe!
So first my one complaint: I like my biscuits from scratch better... but here's the kicker: no one else does. I did a little taste test and everyone liked the biscuits I made from this mix better and it's definitely much easier if you find cutting in lard tedious. We had buttermilk, but you can use the old trick of a tablespoon of vinegar in a cup of whole milk just as well. It's the only added ingredient to the mix. Everything else is already in there. One tip... the dough is a little wetter than I'm used to. Don't sift the flour, just measure according to the directions and mix. Add dry mix if you need to and don't overwork it. Raised up nicely. Looked perfect and tasted great too.

Overpriced
I'm addicted to cooking shows on YouTube. All of the southern US channels I watch recommend this product highly saying you can't beat it. I received my $19.98 3 lb bag today. Living in California, it is not available in stores so I had no choice other than to buy it here. The bag looks like it's 5 years old. Not sure what it's supposed to look like. By reading other reviews I'm seeing it's less than $4 in states that carry it. If I had known that beforehand, I probably wouldn't have ordered it. Then, found it is not returnable!!! The markup is ridiculous and something should be done about that. I see where people didn't realize the bag was so small but that's their fault for not reading the print. Also, people complain about the "yellow flakes" and that is simply the lard or "whatever" fat they add...and I expect that. My problem is the PRICE compared to store prices where you can purchase. What can we do as customers to fix this? Again, I've not tried the product but will tomorrow. If the company happens to read this, please let us know if the bag should look old. And please, lower your price so we westerners can order. (If it's even worth the time). I'll leave another review tomorrow after I mix up a batch.Next day. I've changed my rating to a 5 star. I've been making homemade biscuits for a long time but nothing compares to this product. The biscuits turned out so fluffy I couldn't believe how good they were. Even though they are definitely overpriced compared to stores, CA doesn't carry them so I will continue to buy. If you can afford the product, I definitely recommend it. Just please, lower the price.

The shipping wait is worth the time.
BEST BISCUIT MIX on the market ! A little pricy, but well worth the price.

Finally! A Biscuit Mix Worth Buying
I can't make decent biscuits, and I've tried them all, and followed directions to a T -- even the most recent Best Biscuit by Southern Living with frozen grated butter, not using a biscuit cutter because it may seal the edges, not overmixing or over rolling. Still, they seldom rose and were never impressive.I really dislike any suggestion which says "Just get Pillsbury Grands." Those are not biscuits. Those are frozen rolls which are only decent about 5 minutes after you make them, and then only 3 out of 10 stars at that -- so I wanted something approximating a Buttermilk Biscuit, which rises, is somewhat light and flaky, and reliable.I tried this mix even given the relatively high price point, because I'd rather pay for a sure-thing than spend more time on recipes and frozen butter and my time.Enter this mix -- which worked beautifully the first time out. Now, is this the BEST biscuit I've ever had? No, one of your grandmother's or Aunties will always be able to top a mix. But was it the best biscuit I've ever MADE from a MIX?Yes. Definitely. Rose high, was easy to mix, took little effort. I made two mini batches, each time using just 1 cup of mix and 1/3 cup of buttermilk, and this makes 4 big biscuits, as shown. The price was worth it.
