I don't see anywhere the company states its made in the USA therfore if it survives this year at the river I feel it's worth the prive

The one I received was plastic.

Where is it manufactured?

All of their products are made overseas. It is really deceiving naming your company "Rhino USA" and not 1 item is made here. What a shame

Can this be used for charcoal?

Yes, it is made of steel and would not be an issue. I would keep the hot charcoal on the blade as it would mar any parts that are coated such as the ring knob that tightens the handle.
