Great taste, especially the gravy.
This was my first Fray Bentos streak and kidney pie. The crust was fine, and the meat was sparse, but it tasted great. That gravy was so good that I took a spoon and spooned out what was left. Now, I’ve made steak and kidney pie myself in the past (last time was probably 20 years ago) and it was delicious, but if someone would tell me how to make the gravy taste like that it would not take two decades for me to try again!

A Nostalgic Taste of 1970's Britain
For those who complain about the quality of the product. You need to remember that this is a mass produced pie, not a hand made pie, made from scratch that you buy from you local butchers. Of course it wont be busting at the seams with filling, no matter matter what they advertise on the tin. What this is, is a trip down memory lane for the most part. I did find that there was a little more filling, but nothing to write home about. I've been purchasing these pies on and of for years since I am unable to find these in Los Angeles. They taste as good as I remember when I had them as a kid. My only complaint is the price tag. $20.00 for one pie is an absolute rip off, hence I only buy them when I want to treat myself to crappy British food from my childhood.

Lowest quality ever
Never buy this product, it's nothing but pie dough and gravy, it contains absolutely zero vegetables and only unbelievably tiny slivers of what might be meat but that was no distinctive steak and kidney taste whatsoever

Very good pie
This pie is delicious however expensive for the quantity.

Cooked up fine but not to my taste.
I've looked at these for a while. The concept is a great idea but the flavor sadly was rather metallic. That may be that I am unaccustomed to having liver served in this way. It's not for me but perhaps others may enjoy it

Tasty meat pie
Just a great reminder of a childhood favorite meal. Wouldn’t complain if they added more filling of steak and kidney.

Bad packaging
Was not impressed on how it was packaged in the blue and white Amazon package, obviously it was miss handled, and because of this, the vacuum seal didn’t hold up. The pie itself was a huge letdown, as there was only a dessert spoonful of meat, it consisted mostly of gravy. Still tasted as I remembered.

Palm Oil Pie
Taste is the same as before, but is now made with Palm oil, which gives me an upset tummy.

If you want tinned food to turn up so battered you don't know if it is safe choose this
The product is in a bad state. I bought these with the idea of storing them for longterm use in emergencies. Now I am stuck wth a load of battered stuff that I don't know if it is safe to eat at all. I don't have a printer so won't be able to return them without paying for the post myself so I am stuck with this and will likely have to chuck it which is extremely annoying and a waste but how long have these tins been like this? I don't know. If you want something to turn up so battered you don't know if this is safe to eat this is the product for you. People buy this product to leave it on the shelf for a rainy day. You can get better and cheaper pies fresh. This is supposed to be emergency, long storage food but if the tins are ALL dented you can't leave any on the shelf. Now I don't know how long they have been in this state and if they are safe to use full stop. Really annoyed. I wonder if we are just being offered damaged goods at a discount. If so they are not a bargain are they? No point buying tinned goods off Amazon if this is all you get. There's often the odd battered tin on the corner of a multi pack and that is to be expected and can get used up straight away without too much worry but a whole batch dented is suspicious and unlikely to be the courier's fault in my opinion.

Terrible
An absolute disgusting excuse for a pie. Smelt like dog food when opened and did not improve after baking. Had one bite, let it cool down and then through it in the bin. I love my dogs too much to even feed it to them.

Where's the beef?
These have so few pieces of steak or kidney now, and what pieces there are so, so tiny. A very unsatisfying pie - these are no longer worth buying.
