Definitely a nice amplified sub that will give you some good bass!
This thing is worth the money! I love a little bump, I installed this in my son's 2019 Equinox (SUV) and it's nice! Good bass and the built in amp makes it easy to remove if needed and the overall size doesn't take up too much space. For a single Sub, this hits nicely!

Moves air well in my SUV. Not for sub 30hz.
I am a casual hobby audio enthusiast. I care about my sound spectrum. I also care about my car space, accessibility, and utility. At age 30 I am no longer interested in having two 12” Subwoofer’s running 500w RMS making my ears bleed. Enter this guy. It’s easy to install, hits well and sounds good for its price tag, probably hitting 30 well. Below 30 it drops off quickly, though it says it’s rated for 20hz. I used speaker level and not RCA’s which make it not quite as good, but it works for my purposes. NOTE: The gain in an SUV is way too loud. I have to have the gain set at basically 15%, with a minimal amount of boost hitting around 45-50 hz. I’m happy with this sub. I wish it hit 25-29hz much louder, and it probably would if the box was twice the size. Alas, that’s not the point of this sub. Metal and Electronic music sounds great. Rap is ‘ok’ but would be much better with a 12” with a bigger box. This thing has very little wires to connect with- do NOT buy a huge wiring kit. Lastly, I’ve had a few hiccups. I have had it cut out a few times, randomly, for like 5-10 seconds, the blue light flickers a little, and then stabilizes. I’m not pushing it hard. And it’s totally random. It is either the bracket OR a ground connnection. Any advice would be appreciated.

Surprising sound quality from an all-in-one
Anybody that has owned a subwoofer in their vehicle in the past knows that it's hard to go back to not owning one. Factory stereos in cars have come a long way and I'm generally impressed with the system in my 2018 Malibu, but it still needs help with those lowest octaves. Enter this pioneer. I had this "professionally" installed at drive in autosound and it was a mediocre experience. I guess the tech did his job though as it had power and was making sound when he finished. No attempt was made to tune it so naturally it didn't sound great initially. Luckily, I enjoy tuning my own systems. I just needed them to do a clean install, which he did. It has phase shift, crossover dial, gain, and the bass boost frequency on the unit itself. The included bass knob only boosts or cuts a narrow frequency band that you set on the unit. I have mine set around 80hz to give it a warmer sound, but you can set it lower to give it slightly more rumble. It took some time and patience to get everything dialed in so plan on setting aside time to play with it. So after a few hours of tuning and a month of listening to music during my commutes I must say that I am extremely happy with this sub. I don't like excessive amounts of bass, but it can hit pretty hard if you want it to. But it isn't really that kind of subwoofer. No, this sub provides exceptional sound quality and integrates with the rest of your system to provide full, satisfying music. I listen mostly to rock and the punch from the kickdrums are great and bass guitars have great tone and pitch. On more bass heavy content, it welcomes those thick 808 hits, but it also doesn't play super low. I can definitely tell that it's just a single 12 in a compact sealed enclosure. Speaking of the enclosure, this is a relatively compact sub- especially for a 12. It fits neatly in my trunk and I basically still have my entire trunk. Very convenient. It is taller that some of the competitors though so be mindful of that. I highly recommend this subwoofer, but ask yourself what you're after. If you want sound pressure that will raise the hair on your arms, you probably aren't going to be impressed by this unit. If you're like me and want to flesh your system out with detailed bass, this is a excellent choice.

Great little unit, but NOT 350 watts RMS
First, the cons: - I know this may seem needlessly picky to some, but when I'm expecting a 350 watt RMS unit and open it to see a 20 amp fuse and 16 gauge power wires, I become concerned that I've just thrown away money and something is probably going to melt. This forces me (and I imagine anyone else with even a basic understanding of electricity) to investigate... fortunately I found according to Pioneer's own specifications this unit consumes a maximum of 13 amps at 14.4 volts. That's a theoretical maximum of 187.2 watts. Of course there will be heat losses and the RMS will be even lower, so really we're probably talking 100-120 watts of real RMS power at the speaker. Translation: Nothing's going to melt because the marketing team at Pioneer is exaggerating the power of this unit by 3x. *sigh* Wouldn't it be great if manufacturers could realize we're not idiots and simply telling the truth would do wonders to promote trust in their brand? - A small thing, but they could have included a few wire nuts or even a few barrel crimp connectors to help with the installation. I luckily had some but for a few cents they'd save some people a trip to the hardware store. - Not really a 'con', but worth mentioning: This unit doesn't come with the stuff you'll need to power the amp or get the signals to it. If you don't already have it, be sure to also order a well-reviewed 10 gauge amp wiring kit (Note: 10 gauge is MORE than large enough - you could get away with 16 gauge if they made them) The pros: - Box is solidly built. Carpet is clean-looking and well-adhered. It weighs 23 pounds - so not too heavy to move but stays put nicely. The trapezoidal shape keeps it from tipping if you don't want to bolt it down. - Speaker is nicely mounted and the grill seems tough enough to stand up to groceries and other random stuff rolling around in my trunk (2003 Honda Civic 2dr) - Very nice that it comes with heavy-duty mounting brackets. I chose not to use them because I want to be able to move it for now, but I'm definitely saving them. - Input/control panel is well made and appointed with all the adjustments I could need (including a phase reverse switch - a nice touch) - The remote control knob is great for adjusting the level of bass output. I didn't think I'd use it but I adjust it all the time - so much nicer than messing with level menus on the head unit or pulling over and popping the trunk if I want to switch genres! - Very nice sound quality - consistent with what I expected from the 'old' Pioneer brand. Of course it helps to have a good head unit, but properly set up it's very pleasing. Even though it's a sealed box it has plenty of punch. A nice wide range (I'd guess about 35 Hz to 140 Hz) with a rich sound throughout. There is a dropoff below 30 Hz, but if you're worried about being that low you're probably not even looking at this unit anyway. - I like that it's quite small. I know it's not ideal for producing huge sound but the engineers did a really nice job of getting totally adequate sound out of such a small enclosure. As a dad, I actually need free trunk space so I'm very happy with the compromise. - It's pretty darn loud. EVEN THOUGH it's only 120 watts, it's plenty. No, you're not going to win any competitions or impress the bass-heads, but for inside the car, it's enough to make the average person uncomfortable. Your mirrors will easily shake and you'll hear some rattling outside the car if you really crank it up, but it probably won't turn (many) heads. In summary, for the price (I paid $125), I don't think it can be beat. It's a very well matched set of components - and a fantastic supplement to a stock system that will add tremendous depth to your listening experience no matter what kind of music you enjoy. It's plenty to impress any 'casual' passenger... Upon hearing it my friend's first words were, "Woah... this is amazing! Can you do this to my car?" My only gripe is the false marketing and the stress it caused me, so minus one star for that. Otherwise, I'm super happy and would definitely recommend.

This will not set off alarms, but sounds clean.
I have to say, I'm usually a Kicker loyalist, however, I needed a little more low end in my Jeep GC. I bought the Kicker Hideaway (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007LQWSYC/ref=dp_cerb_3) and that did not even produce enough bass to enhance the OEM stereo system. If you have the room (with isn't much), get this self-powered box. It produces more bass than I expected for the price. I get a good amount of vibration in my mirrors. It sounds awesome. The wiring was rather simple (just review the colors of the wires). All the wires terminate to a plug/harness so if I need to take it out, I just unplug it. Being that this is a self-contained box, you don't need to run a huge power wire, install a cap, amp, just connect the power, ground, signal and your RCA's from your head unit. You can run just speaker inputs, but that will not allow you to separate your low from mid-high signals, which means if you want a lot of bass, that will also be going to your speakers - I do not recommend. I have had a few ppl compliment me on how it sounds, very clean, hits well. It won't set off alarms, but listening to is outside the vehicle sounds complete. It was a definite upgrade to my OEM speakers and aftermarket head unit. I don't usually give a product 5 stars, but I have no regrets or issues. I would definitely recommend to anyone.

Update: all good now.
Update: all good now, it was an intermittent issue with the fusible link. The installer I used didn't catch it. I finally swapped the fuse and redid All the wiring myself and isolated it to, so shame on me I should have done that to begin with and not trusted the shop I paid. That being said, the fuse wasn't blown, but it must have been weak and causing a high resistance open, I swapped it for a brand new 20 amp bus fuse and all the problems went away. I apologize to pioneer for my previous complaint. OLD POST: I don't drive this vehicle very often because I have a company vehicle. But I would jam it a lot when I did drive and it was great for 8 months.. I had bought the Asurion warranty through Amazon, but so everybody knows that doesn't kick in until the manufacturer warranty runs out after a year. Good luck dealing with Pioneer on this repair issue. Woofer starts making a squelching sound and then cuts off and there's a pulse heartbeat sound. Turn the car completely off or unplug the harness and everything's fine it's totally silent until you turn the radio on again and put a little base to it it'll work for about 10 seconds and then the same symptom repeats. I'm not going to even bother trying to go to the manufacturer warranty any longer. And I doubt I'll be buying Asurion extended ever again. The sound and thump was great, while it lasted. I put it in a BMW I3 with the Harman Kardon system, just added this for more low end.

Great subwoofer for the price
I had a friend who works in a stereo shop install this behind the driver's seat of my 1988 Lincoln Town Car about 2 years ago. It's in the floor well in front of the back seat with the speaker facing the rear of the car, wedged in nicely and not going anywhere. This thing hits hard and sounds great, though you can definitely hear the bass drop off in some electronic tracks (Pendulum likes to drop to sub-30Hz bass in some tracks for example). This sub sounds fine for dubstep and metal, but trance and rap can be a bit much for it at high volumes - anything with a beating drum (boom-boom-boom) really. I keep my JVC head unit at 24-27 volume usually. Anything with thumping bass is kept on the lower end to avoid distorted bass. Once you adjust the sub, it probably doesn't hurt to direct the sub 125Hz bass away from your speakers since the sub is handling it, if your head unit allows you to do that - I just feel it made a better sound stage over all for my listening. I've never had any issues with this subwoofer - no "circuit protect" cut offs like the older Infinity BassLink subs are prone to, no defects. Very pleased with my purchase.
