This is a comprehensive guitar book. It has various sections. The most fascinating section is the rather large history of the guitar and well known guitarists. The front sections have instructions on chords, reading music, and using guitar accessories. The 2 guitarist in my family each raved about it. I gave one as a gift.

It's not easy to learn on your own, but this book helps although you do need to play with other people. Don't be a closet player.
