Works great but doesn't fit perfectly
4 and half Stars for me.It's easy to install and does work for me.However the riser doesn't fit perfectly on my toilet. It is half of an inch smaller overall for my toilet, but still provides enough room for me to use the handheld bidet. Another issue causing the half star off is the size of bolts's head. They're so big that they stick out and the screws flaps won't cover them up.

Toilet aid
Seat riser is a great option for seniors my parents like how much easier it is to get on and off the toilet. I had to add gasket strips underneath the riser due to it slipping around but other than that it very good

Pretty Good
Bought this for my aging mother. It works pretty good but wants to slide all over the place. I ended up making a board of the right thickness to wedge between this riser and the toilet tank so help stabilize it, thus the four start rating.

Easy to get up aid.
Works great. Easy to clean, quiet, and comfortable. This is my second purchase. This is for our guest bathroom. We purchased the first one about a month ago for the master bathroom. High quality!

Can't Use With Quick Release Seat
My husband just had surgery, and I was trying to install this before he came home, but I did not know that this is incompatible with quick release toilet seats. Looking at how both are installed, I understand why, but I don't even know if they make the regular seat anymore. I have three toilets, and the seats are all from different manufacturers, and they are ALL quick release. They should charge a little extra and provide a compatible seat. This is one of those you don't know until you know, and this manufacturer should realize that many of us don't know and warn us.

Prepare to spend a lot of cleaning time
It is as if this item was never "field" tested. The item itself appears to be well made. Once you attach it to a toilet bowl, the problems manifest themselves. The nuts/bolts holding the riser to the bowl are steel. Steel nuts in water are never a good idea. The nuts and washers (supplied) are flat thus preventing centering of the bolt in the toilet bowl holes. I found some old plastic conical shaped nuts that did this centering job. Again, the steel bolts are a potential problem where they pass through the holes in the toilet bowl. Because of the height of the riser (length of the bolts), it is somewhat unsteady even when tightened. This slight movement could chip or crack the toilet bowl (I shimmed the holes with pieces of rubber hose to cut down the movement of the bolts and to prevent the steel on porcelain situation). Additionally, all toilet seats that are to be attached to the riser to complete the installation are not made with the same diameter as the supplied attaching bolts nor the same mode of attachment. Be sure to select a toilet seat that has the correct diameter hole to handle the supplied attaching bolt or be prepared to do some drilling and modification of the toilet seat as I did. Also, due to the slot on either side of the lower portion of the riser extending all the way across the bottom or lower part of the riser, there can be waste leakage across and around the rim of the toilet bowl. This could have been prevented for the most part if the slot had been designed as an indentation to assist in lifting the riser for cleaning. This slot also exacerbates the cleaning process as it adds more nooks and crannies. Unfortunately, the riser cannot be moved as far forward as it should be to make a better fit to the front of the toilet bowl. This problem has no solution I can imagine due to the thickness of the material used in construction of the riser. The fact that it only comes in a four-inch class was disheartening. A two-inch riser would provide an option as not all toilets are built to the same height. All-in-all, this riser does beat attaching a rope to the toilet user for aid with extraction.

Great product for use after lumbar spine surgery after a few modifications!
This design is a major improvement over the old single piece units used in my mother's long-term care facility! I read the reviews, suggestions, and complaints, and ordered this prior to undergoing lumbar spine fusion surgery March 8th and it is incredible! However, a few modifications will make it almost perfect. I have Kohler 1.6 gal flush elongated bowl toilets in my home. The inside lowest part of the bowl (it slopes at the front edge top to bottom) measures 11 5/8" L X 10 7/8" W (at the widest point of the bowl). The longest measurement front to back at the upper top of bowl is 13 7/8"1. Toilet seats: Mine had an elongated Bemis which has molded-in-place attachment bolts. My wife's had an elongated Mayfair which has removable bolts so she swapped hers with mine.2. Bolts: Apparently some earlier models had larger diameters bolts, mine had 1/4" bolts, wing nuts, some plastic and metal washers. If you received an an older larger-bolt model, you'll need to visit the local hardware store (ACE for example) and purchase the same hardware in 1/4" size.3. Slipping, sliding between Carex and your seat and/or toilet: Some folks purchased rubber washers to place between their own seat top and the Carex; and on the underside of the toilet between the metal washers. I had some leftover thin rubber cabinet shelf liner from another project that my wife cut to fit the rear entire underside mounting section of the Carex and installed it between the toilet and Carex, then installed bolts, washers and wingnuts. This really reduced movement.4. Urine running under the toilet-side Carex lip and onto the toilet front edge: One person taped a sandwich bag to the inside lower front edge of the Carex. My wife used a piece of Gorilla tape 2" wide and long enough to match the Carex curve inside lower front. 1/2" of the top long edge is attached to the Carex, the additional 1 1/2" hangs from the Carex. The Carex lip slopes away from the toilet rim so the tape angles away from the toilet rim and directs urine into the toilet. The tape IS NOT attached to the toilet, only the Carex!5. Lowering and raising the Carex, my toilet seat and lid: Due to my spine surgery I am in a back brace and cannot bend over for 3 months. To help solve that problem and be more self-reliant I purchased a Pik Stik Pro P-321 32"reacher/grabber tool (Amazon). With it I can lift and lower my toilet lid and seat and both Carex sections without any help. (Note: The bottom section of the Carex will not stay in place vertically but if you're male you can just stand, straddle and aim through that section). I can also flush the toilet myself. This tool also allows me to pick up my shoes, socks, shirts, small objects on the floor, counter or shelf and get my sweat pants on and off and more!
