This is an excellent crochet kit - I enjoyed the process of creating the bag and am pleased with the result. The printed instructions are fairly high level but the instruction videos from the manufacturer ('sunflower phone bag, parts 1-5', via the QR code on the instructions and on youtube) are very good and helped me as a beginner to make this bag. I watched some parts at quarter speed to be able to see exactly how the stitches are done! The kit comes with a 2.5mm hook but I found that a 3.5mm hook was easier to use.

Although the product itself is OK - I bought it for my granddaughter and it's not really suitable for child beginner, she found the instructions confusing. However the worst part was that we waited ages for it to be delivered only to find that the delivery people had left it in the wheelie bin in the garden when no one was at home. Luckily it was found before the refuse collectors had emptied the bins.

Love the case, and the project was fun to work up, I managed 2 cases with the yarn provided. One issue is the instruction booklet, translated from unstated language "the corner hole begin to crochet, crochet corresponding to the corner". No clue what that meant but I worked it out using small photo and experience. No graph for visual learners, word pattern only.

Okay. So I would consider myself quite decent at crochet. Intermediate if not advanced. But this pattern is something else! I got it for Christmas as I thought the bag was cute and could use the pattern to make some as gifts. Nope. I'm going to have to watch the tutorials from the QR code and write the pattern myself. There are no words in the tutorial so I can just watch and write it down. Not what I was expecting. Might as well paid for a pattern of the Internet. Also pages 2 and 3 are not constant to the pattern and reference a doll. Even tells me I should have stuffing, safety eyes and says the QR code is for a doll but when you go into it, it is for this bag. This would put begingers off crochet!

I went for the Navy Blue version, which is for a cute little bag with sunflower design. You get everything you need to get started in the set so it’s quite comprehensive in that sense, even if the kit is quite basic. You get the yarn balls, crochet hook, needles and threaders and stitch markers, and a little instruction guide. I like that this is to make a little bag so it has a practical purpose at the end of it.I like that the set is colourful, too. It makes it that bit more fun and more appealing, especially for newbies. I wanted my mum to have a go with crochet so this is proving to be a good way for her to get to grips with it.The user guide is indispensable as you need it for the pattern, but also for figuring out what’s what and how you actually crochet. It goes through various basic crochet stickers and how you do them step by step in a clear, easy to understand way and with diagrams. It tells you about how to use the tools, how to hold the yarn, and so on. The only thing I’d say is slightly larger text might have been helpful as it’s a tad on the small side.While a little resealable plastic bag to keep all the bits and bobs in would have been helpful, I’ve no real downsides to the set overall. For a beginner, or a casual crocheter wanting a DIY kit, I’d say this is a good place to start. It’s basic but does the job, is colourful and contains what you need for making the cute little bag.

If it wasn't for the utube video on the pattern I would not have been able to do it. However the video meant that it turned out lovely.

Great for starters, although the pattern can be a little bit confusing at first so I recommend to watch the videos first.

This crocheting kit comes with large amounts of yarn and I even had extras to practice on, it comes with step-by-step instructions and demonstration videos that helped me as the project was tricky but suitable for beginners. It comes with many tools such as needle and stitch markers.
