Our 11 month old cat became overweight and stopped being interested in play. We locked him out of the other cat's food and started feeding him a specific amount of food certain times per day instead of free-feeding, but there was so much anxiety around this that it was affecting our relationship, and I also didn't enjoy the middle of the night feedings since he didn't seem to want to wait until morning. I decided I needed to be taken out of the direct feeding part of his diet. We use this feeder to feed him 5g 9 different times per day, which equals out to the amount of calories recommended for weight loss at his beginning weight based on online pet food calculator. Once he figured out that he was going to be getting fed consistently at specific times per day, he became less anxious about food, and he has even started saving some of his timed food until later, when he's hungrier. He's slowly trimming down and having a lot more fun playing again.I did replace the nice stainless bowl with a ceramic slow feeder bowl to help even more with our cats weight loss. I think it would be nice if they had an option to purchase a slow feeder insert from this company as well. But because of the height this feeder dispenses at, it was easy to just swap in a different dish.

I’ve now completed my Petlibro trio — soft food feeder, hard food feeder, and the newest addition, the water fountain — and I couldn’t be happier.Soft Food Feeder (Polar): This one is a game changer for wet food. It keeps my cat’s food fresh all day without any ice packs, and the app control makes feeding so convenient. I no longer have to rush home or worry about spoilage.Dry Food Feeder: Reliable, consistent, and super easy to set up. It dispenses the right amount of kibble every time, and I like the voice recording feature so my cat hears a familiar sound at mealtime.Water Fountain: The fountain is sleek, quiet, and really encourages my cat to drink more water. I love being able to monitor water levels and drinking habits through the app. Just be aware it needs regular cleaning to avoid buildup — I do it weekly and haven’t had any issues.Overall, I’m really happy with the Petlibro system. It’s made feeding and hydration worry-free, especially when I’m away for a day or two. Highly recommend for any cat parent who values convenience and quality!

Now that I've has this in use for a few weeks... This feeder has held up!I got this feeder to be able to feed my cat when I'm out of the house at feeding times. My cat has a Maine Coon (think the size of a small-medium dog), so he's big and has a lot of physical power for a cat. This feeder has held up and not let any food out when it wasn't supposed to, which was my primary concern since he's on a diet.Good stuff:- App setup is simple, but using 1/24s of food to measure took some trial and error before I was comfortable feeding the cat with the right amount of food. It's easy to set up timed feedings or to do a one-off immediate feed.- Food tower holds plenty of food. Since I am not using this for every meal every day, it takes a while to deplete.- Actually cat-proof. Despite his best efforts, no food as ever escaped from this feeder when it shouldn't. There are some possible issues if you have a larger cat, which I'll explain.- Battery charged fairly quickly and has been running for a few weeks so far. That's plenty of time between charges for me.Issues:- Because of my small-dog-sized cat, the feeder was being knocked entirely on its side. No food ever released when this happened, but I needed to set it back upright. To prevent this, I had to wedge the feeder between the fridge and a heavy object to keep it upright. This has worked since I set it up.- The feeding dish can be pulled away from the food tower. While this would not prevent feeding from happening, it Is annoying and food could get in places you don't want it to when it's released. I was able to put one piece of tape across the bottom plastic to hold them together, which still allows me to clean the main bowl. No issues with this since then.- Again, you will need to figure out exactly how many 24ths of cups of food correspond to what you feed, which takes a little time. But once you know, it's all set up.Overall I am impressed with the integrity of the feeder and it holding up despite the best efforts of my cat to cheat on his diet. I definitely recommend it, and with smaller cats I don't think the tipping issue would come up at all.
