Tintin - Crab with Golden Claws Paperback – August 29, 1931

This is my book report on The Crab with the Golden Claws. This is a book from The Adventures of Tintin by Hergé. I recommend this funny book to all who love Tintin.Tintin, a reporter in Belgium, takes his dog, Snowy, for a walk. Tintin meets his friends, Thompson and Thompson. The twin detectives take a liquid lunch from finding the source of a counterfeit money scheme. This tips Tintin off to the murder of a sailor, Herbert Dawes from a merchant vessel called the Karaboudjan. Tintin boards the ship only to get kidnapped. Adventures ensue.I love this book. I enjoy the dialogue, the world of the story and the characters. I most especially identify with Tintin’s observations and outlook. As much as I enjoy the boy scout, I like his dog Snowy as I am a dog lover. I even enjoy the bad guys. Captain Allan is one of my favorite characters because he makes me laugh.

My daughter can’t put this book down! She loves the series and has so enjoyed getting to read this one! It’s her new favorite!

Gift for my 5 year old grandson. He loves all Tintin adventures including this one. Has many in this series. Read to him every night at bedtime. Book is well made. Clear and colorful comic book type pictures. Can also watch the stories on YouTube for added enjoyment

The last book I needed to complete my entire Tintin collection. If you haven't discovered the classic Tintin series, you owe it to yourself to try them out. A fun read for both children and adults. Be sure to read them in order though, the characters and adventures build on each other.

We are purchasing the Tin Tin Collection for our young grandson who has a great time reading!!!

Reading the Tintin adventures when I was a kid changed my life. It was my first exposure to the graphic novel experience. back then you got them a chapter at a time, later in complete book form like this. They were adventure stories with exciting action, mysterious puzzles, hilarious characters, and real world concepts I could understand. I buy them now for my nieces and nephews to read when they come over, but I have to read each one again as well. I very much like this extra-large softcover edition. The art work is much better presented and you can really put you whole focus into the story. I can't afford the hardcover editions so this is the next best thing. Not a one of these is bad. I'm working on collecting them all.
