Turtle FurMen's Solid Merino Wool Classic Knit Beanie

I'm a bald man, so I have lots of beanies to keep my head warm in the winter. I'm heading somewhere much colder than I live in January for 2 weeks and given that all of my beanies currently have at times not cut it where I live now, I was expecting my head to solidify into ice while there. I looked specifically for wool and found this. 50% wool is not bad. Upon receiving this beanie, I can tell you it is by far the thinnest AND warmest beanie I've ever worn.

The turtle fur fleece on the inside is very soft and comfortable. The shape and fit are also spot on. Unfortunately, the hat is very thin, to the point that light easily comes through without stretching the weave. It will be good for the fall, but, I bought to wear in Svalbard, Norway this coming February. It won't be sufficient for that trip.

Hat is way to big for me will most likely return

Bought this to replace a Turtle Fur black merino wool beanie I had for years but (thought I) lost on a camping trip. So disappointed in drop in quality of materials and construction. Old cap was 100% wool, made in Canada, with a tight weave and fit snugly on my head. New version of the cap is 50% wool/50% acrylic (knew this when purchased), made in China, but the weave is so loose that I could see the skin of my fingers if I placed them inside the cap and looked through. Also, the fit was relatively loose for a beanie cap. I'm really happy that I found my old one to stick with.
