DSLR Camera for work-from-home video conferencing
Turned a Sony A6400 DSLR into a video camera for video conference calls while working from home as part of shelter in place because of COVID. This unit was $200, and 33% cheaper than Magewell's product, which from images the product looks identical; I suspect Magewell is only rebranding this non-branded component and charging a premium. Same product is available direct from China via other resellers for $60, however delivery time is much longer.Plugged in, to the camera's HDMI out port (needs a different HDMI cable than supplied in the box), USB into a Windows 10 Laptop, and it just worked. Some reviews report the HDMI input to USB output UVC device gets hot, but from my 1st day of usage it's only warm to the touch. That is expected as the electronics dissipate heat via the metal casing.Great solution to re-use high quality lenses on a DSLR for video conferences through a laptop or computer.

Need to feed HDMI into your computer? This is the device.
We have this device connected from a camcorder (HDMI output) to a laptop (USB 3 input). The camcorder video is used for Zoom meetings and webinars. The video card connects easily and is immediately recognized by the laptop as a video input. Pretty much plug and play. Video quality is excellent. No interruptions or glitches. Highly recommended.

Take my review with a grain of salt...but hope it helps
I'm a novice in this area but know my way around a PC. I'm using this to backup some old VHS tapes. I tried a cheap input to pc and its software a couple years ago. It was garbage...like sold stating it would work on Windows 7...but was probably too old already and had haphazard driver updates. Fast forward a couple years and this was my 2nd stab at it. It was easy to set up. As in, the capture card was actually plug and play on windows 10. Here's where I've been getting frustrated. I wasn't paying attention. There is no software. I knew exactly what that meant for someone like me who had never heard of OSB and only knows about half the settings. Learning curve... I think I've got the recording I want on OSB but the audio is echoing. I cant tell you how many times I debated scrapping OSB and trying another freeware program. Don't any shareware programmers have an idea of how to make a program that's intuitive? Anyway, I cant ding this product for having bad software...because it has none. I'm thinking that I paid extra for a fairly cheap device but in a more rigid case. Works fine.

Worked the first time awesome resolution
I have coupled this with a Multi Screen interface and an S-video to HMDI converter for an older cameras I have. This application is for a broadcast program feature on the internet. The camera interface plugs into the multi-screen splitter then into this device to get it to the 3.0 USB on my Laptop. I am using a Qosmio X505 890 gaming laptop. They cast to the internet with Discord webcasting software. The Laptops I am multi-screening are the same. The resolution for all the interfacing equipment is outstanding. So far so good. I have a program airing in a month so time will tell if this device holds up. The reviews I have recived about the quality of the broadcast are all "extraordinary". Great product. Better than I expected.

Simply didn’t work for me
First of all a lot of good reviews for this product and this is the reason why I bought this . When I tried it plug it in and did some adjustments it did work but have some lags every now and then especially for the laptop even if you have a usb 3.0 connection. Surprisingly when I took a 5 minute video it took almost 30 GB of space , what the heck ? And the recorded video is jittering or shaky most of the times . Did some more adjustments and it still took the same amount of space (30 GB) for a 6 minute video recording . So I decided to write this review and be as honest as possible so the other consumers like me out there to know what’s going on with this product . Nonetheless I am returning this product after only two days of messing around with this . Pay attention to the instructions included you’ll notice this is not an updated Windows function it’s a very old windows version coz it’s not user friendly.

Works as advertised!
The product works as advertised. I use it for church live-streaming with a Canon HF R800. Picture was a little dark until I set the Canon for low light setting. Very acceptable picture quality. Best price out there during the coronavirus gouging going on currently for these units. This is about the only one available at time of purchase. I took a chance and all is well so far.

After paying $200 this unit stopped working after 10 months. Don’t buy.Easy to use but for the price you can find something better. I’m trying to get a replacement but I can’t find their support.
