I bought these screws to attach a lock to my door frame, in such a way that it will be sturdier, last longer, and be more difficult to break. I used these to replace the 2 1/2 inch screws that came with the lock, as those screws were Phillips head, which are notoriously easy to strip and damage. These screws, however, are easier to drive and much more difficult to strip. Which is exactly what I was looking for. All in all, I am very satisfied with my purchase of these screws.

Good screws, perhaps too long. I pre-drilled the screw holes with wood drill before I installed screws.

After doing a bit of research, I decided to go with this Reinforced Door Screw Kit, and I’m really happy with the choice. These screws are solid. The dual-formed screw head accepts both standard Phillips and square screw driver bits, in which the latter is much easier for non-licking secure installation. The screw is a little bit thinner than regular door hinge screws probably for easy installation without pre-drilling. If you think the existing jam hole is larger and worry if the screw would install loose, pick a toothpick, coat it with wood glue, then strike it into the hole. It is also recommended coating the screw with lubricant like toilet bowl ring wax for easier self-drilling. The caveat is that it is pricier than other screws, but it's probably worth the price.
