These adapters are for use of lightning cables. Lightning cables are basically obsolete for any new equipment and can only be used for dated equipment. As tgime goes by these adapters will become useless.These adapters should last as long as they needed.

We are in a period of change for USB. I think lot of folks have many more cables than devices. I’ve been buying adapters, like these, and slowly putting the obsolete cables away. Unless you need a higher wattage cable it's cheaper to put a Lightening to USB C adapter on the old cable. Having these adapters in the car, truck, bedside drawer etc. They’ve helped tidy up on the way to an all USB C future.
