Made mostly of plastic but seems to be strong enough. It should be ok with general use. Not too difficult to put together. As is the way with this sort of thing, the instructions are largely gibberish. In this case, they were diagrams without a great deal of detail. I found that logic and common sense were as important as anything I was told. Needed a bit of a thump to get some bits to click together, but generally fine.

Trust me! This hose reel is value for money. I’ve read one or two reviews berating the fitting together of the metal parts, ( which were all shaped on the same jig as my hose reel) and mine went together perfectly. This reel is unbelievably inexpensive compared to many I’ve seen in the Amazon market place and yet it holds 50 metres of hose. It can be floor mounted or wall mounted which is the option I chose and if wall mounting the unit you can leave the top tubular carry handle off the assembly making for a neater looking unit. I made a couple of metal brackets to fix the unit to a wall as the plastic hose bracket I purchased through Amazon was not fit for purpose. I doubt you’ll find any hose reel of comparable quality to this at anywhere near the price.

Absolute rubbish item, totally unfit for purpose. As soon as pressure is put into the hose reel, the fittings part company. Poor design, should be taken off the market. To make matters worse, if you send emails to the supplier, COSTWISE LTD in Okehampton and Birmingham, they do not even bother to reply.Our hose reel failed after 5 months, of which three of them were over winter when the hose reel was not used and stored in the shed.The company COSTWISE should be removed immediately from Amazon and E-Bays listings.

This is an easy to assemble reel with no tools required but does require a little thought as the instructions are not very useful (was much too small for me to read). Once put together it’s fine to use but the handle comes off when the reel is carried around. Best to just keep it in one place. It does feel a bit flimsy but it does what it needs to and I found winding the hose easy enough. For the price I think it’s perfectly acceptable.

Seems sturdy and did panic as read the reviews which said it was hard to put together .... it was fine will put hose on it this weekend ..

A little tricky to assemble as there are no instructions but quick enough once you look at the pictures on the box. Once assembled it works well as a second real in the garage to tidy up old hoses and good value for money. Its a good 2nd real for occaisional use but wouldn't use this everyday

It’s not the most sturdy but it is excellent value. I was surprised at how expensive some reels were. This gets the job done and is easy to assemble.
