HUGE filters!
These filters are absolutely huge, which is what I needed so that was great. I make yogurt by the gallon, and I can pour the whole thing in these to strain. When they get wet they do tend to tear, but that is easily remedied by putting a flour sack towel in the strainer and then the coffee filter on top of that. I can toss out the messy filter when I am done and the towel is easy to toss in the washer, no need to rinse. I have enough to last me for a couple of years, but when they are gone I will be ordering more! The only problem is storage -- I cleared out a whole drawer in my guest room chest to hold them.

awesome big honkin' filters
Echoing the other reviewers, yes, these things are ginormous. I'd pay good $$ to see the size of an actual coffee maker that could accommodate them. That said, they have a LOT of other uses. I've used them for filtering rain water for my fish tank, straining yogurt for home made greek style (yum!), cleaning windows (lint free - woot!), and lining plant pots to keep soil from falling out through the drainage hole. I'm sure there are plenty of other uses for these crazy giant things.

Best Yogurt Strainer
I have tried everything - cheesecloth, bouillon strainer, etc etc - to strain yogurt for Greek yogurt and this works the best by far. These things are huge!!!! I am able to strain a gallon of yogurt w probably room enough for another gallon to spare. Also the order contains enough filters that I don't think I (or any of my family or friends) will ever need to reorder for the duration of our lives.

HUGER then I expected
so can't be used for the purpose I bought them for (and I've still got some under my desk to have to carry home--they're heavy) but have found I can drain cooking grease and soup and other liquidy stuff through them so the chunky stuff doesn't go down the drain or otherwise. They even fit my colander which makes it easy. Just wrap up the filter with the chunks and toss it all into compost. I filtered my cold drip coffee through these too to catch the grounds. They're coming in quite handy.

23 inch Monster, 8.5 inch base
I was looking for a large filter like a coffee filter, but larger than the standard basket filters for home coffee makers. Well. this is certainly larger, in fact its a monster. It has an overall diameter of 23 inches, and is pleated into a basket with an 8.5 inch base. It is too large for use with a kitchen strainer (which I filled with 6 overlapping common filters) without cutting down, but I think I have a large colander of the right size for filtering rain water which will make that job much easier and faster.
