I'm 41, these allow me to compete in leagues on equal level with forwards.
These really are game changers. I have always been an inline goalie, but haven't played for 20 years. I wish these were around then. The bottom line playing inline as a goalie is RollerFly's solve the friction problem. I played for a month without them when I started back up this past June 2021. I was seeing my Chiro doc weekly to get my knees and hips worked on because of how sore I was on my pads. Then in July 2021 I bought these. It's a night and day difference. The stress and pain on my hips and knees went away immediately. I'm able to drop into a butterfly position, make sliding half butterfly saves, and handle dekes in shootouts with better movement and confidence.I play in CCM EFlex 4 Pro leg pads, and I've attached rollerflys with velcro (as they show on their website). I don't use the straps provided. The only 'complaint' if I can make one is the surfaces I play on and the durability of the ball bearings. I play 3x a week, and 1x a week the surface is a painted concrete indoor skating rink. What I noticed after about 2 months of use was this:Worn down and missing bearings. These are made out of plastic. Maybe due to how I've attached the plates to my pads, but there is sometimes a gap at the front edge of the smaller plate, and some bearings have fallen out during games. Also, when you get the plates, take a screwdriver and slightly loosen the backplate against the bearings some. The goal is to have the balls move freely while still held in place. When I used them first, the backing was tightened down that the balls were not spinning at all, and some have worn down and become lopsided. This hasn't affected at all the performance, it's more an annoyance given the price.I struggled with 4 or 5 starts. I think the benefits for your hips/knees, and being able to actually play the goalie position effectively- outweighs the annoyance with the bearings missing and wearing down. I haven't tried with the steel bearings that are allegedly available, and I'd use them if there isn't a risk to the floors I play on. After using them, I would never play without them.

If you read the original post Seller has made good on this product.
My son has had Roller Flys for probably 6 years his original set had finally suffered a crack. Ordered a new set when they finally became available, this set suffered a crack before 30 days was up. Wanted them replaced which with Amazon didn't appear to be an option. When return was notified was being charged a 44 dollar restocking fee. I'm not sure how you restock a broken item???? My son works and plays still at 22 several times a week and is employed in the goalie department of a Southern California Hockey Store. I doubt he will be recommending this product in the future. Seller contacted me and the return being a mess was mainly due to bad communication between how you can respond to a why a item was returned. Seller contacted be promptly and issued refund and we bought another set immediately. My son has used and loves this product for years. It was very nice to see a company take care of business the way they did. Thank you

Wish We Had Gotten These Sooner!
My son, a long-time Dek hockey Goalie who has also been training on the ice, loves the RollerFly Plates. These have elevated his Dek hockey play and they work very well on the Dek surface. After a few practices and games getting used to them, he slides well and can do more now in ball hockey than ever before. He did switch to using heavy duty double-sided hook and loop/velcro strips under the plates, vs using the included straps, which didn't stay put - now they stay firmly in place on his pads (Bauer Size 34 + 2 Senior) with no issues. He took the balls completely OUT for all Dek surface play. He slides so much better without the balls. Wish we had gotten these sooner!

Butterfly Goalies
I get the concept of these sliders and how to use them but these are geared towards non-hybrid goalies. Attaching them to pads is fairly simple. Use double sided velcro and remove all straps. Negative to rollerflys are they are designed for larger size pads. If you are a smaller goalie like myself and you need to put these on a pad that's less than a 32+1 go another route and do NOT buy these. I have also tried the Kenesky sliders and Mission Slydes as well. None have been worthwhile as of yet. Maybe Rollheim pads are the way to go. Good luck!!

Completely Changed My Game
I believe these came out in 2012, and I am very disappointed that I did not learn about them until recently.I was hesitant to spend $200 on a couple pieces of plastic, but there is nothing out there that can do what these rollerfly slide plates do.I have been playing roller hockey goalie for the past 22 years. These have completely changed my game. I can get to shots that I never would have been able to stop previously. My knees also don't hurt after games anymore.I was only playing 1 game a night, and that was starting to become a struggle.Since purchasing these, I'm playing 3 and 4 games a night. They really do put a lot less stress on your body.

Complete game changer
These things are great. Transitioning from the iceTo a roller rink was difficult with not being able to slide. I was on the brink of a groin pull before getting these. I will say there are some growing pains to install them to fit your play style and sit just right one your pads. But once you have that nailed down, it’s like being back on the ice. I absolutely recommend these to any level goalie that’s not playing on ice.
