The only thing they had going for them was the quality and intensity of the audio they put out of their headphone jacks. They sound freakin' fantastic.But, everything else about those phones has been an utter disappointment. So, when my G5 was finally paid off, I upgraded to a Note 8. And holy hell, what an upgrade! In every single way. Except one. It sounds like crap in comparison.Along with the new phone, I also bought myself the Mee Audio M7 Pros. I'd been eyeing them for a while, but they're significantly more expensive than the M6 Pros I've been using for several years. But, new job, raise, new phone, let's get some bangin' new headphones while I'm at it! Too bad that the Samsung just does not deliver, no matter how many audio settings I tweak and personalize. It just sounds flat, and weak, and gutted.So, I bought this Bluetooth MMCX cable. It is the cheapest **reliable** BT MMCX cable on Amazon, and with the best reviews. (Surprisingly beating the snot out of the Shure one!) Ponied up the $60, and got it a couple days later. Very cool! It works, right out the gate. Even bought myself a BT dongle for my PC and work laptop, as neither has BT functionality built-in (missing hardware). I bought this cable for functionality; I wanted to be able to take calls without having my phone to my ear for ~45 minutes +. I wanted to be able to listen to music when on-site. I wanted to be able to use our office's VoIP softphone app on my laptop. All things now possible with this cable.What I did not want (or really, expect) was that, apparently, Samsung put all their audio power into the Bluetooth connectivity on these phones. Holy hell, what a difference this new connection has made in how these headphones sound! Now the bass is actually present, unlike before! And the volume! I can get to a comfortable listening volume in a loud environment well before I've hit the "listening to music at unsafe levels for extended periods of time is damaging to your hearing" warning Samsung likes to put out over and over and over (look, Samsung, I get it). Before, out of the headphone jack, I would be well into the orange before I was able to clearly hear a podcast while anything else was going on around me. And yes, I have properly fitted Comply isolation tips installed, and inserted properly into my ears, for all of this.So, all-in-all, a great buy.Then why the missing star? Two reasons.One: that stupid woman's voice telling me "power on, connected, pairing, power off, battery low." I get it. We need an audio cue to tell us what's going on. Why not beeps? Why not make it changeable? Why not at least have the volume of her voice follow the volume settings for whatever media we're consuming? It's poorly designed, and poorly implemented, and cheapens the user experience of the whole system. Not enough for me to stop using the cable, by any means. But it's still a thing.Two: battery life. There is no way in hell you're getting a solid 8 hours of listening time out of these. Period. That is, with no equivocation, a boldface lie. I'm careful now and make sure to turn the things off if I'm not using them (as the "battery low" warning in her breathy voice only gives you about 5 minutes' notice before the cable's completely dead). It's not hard, and it doesn't take much effort at all, but if I don't, this cable is dead long before the end of the work day. However, with semi-diligent management, I can usually get two days' use out of a charge. And it does charge up pretty quickly. And that's only powering it down as needed. I still listen/talk for at least a couple hours every day.So, all-in-all, I really like these cables. They're not perfect, but from my research and experience, they're the best that's out there for the time being. Would totally buy again. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Good sound and connection, but horrible batteries. *by M***K on Reviewed in the United States on March 14, 2019* Great sound and very few connection issues. I purchased this cable to go with my Fiio iem headphones. The connection between the cable and the headphones is solid (almost too solid), but really the only time I have had to remove it was to send it back. That is the issue. I have had to send the cable back 3 time in less than a year, all for the same issue. The battery dies and will no longer take a charge. This happened shortly after purchase (Amazon replaced it) and then twice more where I worked through Mee audio. The company’s customer service is great to deal with, though I have worked totally through their support page and not had to actually talk to anyone. I worry that they will last just long enough to be out of warranty and then I will be SOL. I know modern electronics like this don’t last forever, but since these are about the middle of the price range, and haven’t been subjected to anything other than normal usage, I would expect to get at least a year beyond the warranty before experiencing a problem as basic as a battery issue.May 2019 update. I found out the problem that has been killing my BTX1s they are not sweat resistant. Sweat has been making its way into the control (right) side and corroding the battery leads where they attach to the control board, right behind the usb connection. Mee audio confirmed that the BTX1 is not water resistant or sweat proof. I just received the BTX2 (described as IPX5 water resistant) and am much more impressed by the feel of it. The cables feel tougher and build quality seems to have greatly improved in the BTX 2 over the BTX1. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Gets the job done, good sound quality, stopped working after a few months *by A***M on Reviewed in the United States on February 21, 2019* Pros:Good sound quality, indistinguishable from wired with Fiio F9 ProGood connectivity, rarely have bluetooth issuesComfortable, I rarely find the wire gets in the way and the controls aren't too heavyGood customer serviceCons:The buttons are not well distinguished and have poor feedback so it can be difficult and time consuming to know which one you're pressing.The rubber of the cable is grippy and prone to tanglingThere is no stress relief where the cable connects to the button housingThe connectors are very difficult to remove from IEMs because there is no good place to grip the connector, instead you end up pulling on the cable which is not goodAfter a few months, my first copy stopped playing audio out of the right ear. Luckily MEE Audio replaced it for free, no questions askedThe battery life is okay at around 4 hours of listening in my experience, however the battery alerts and monitoring is USELESS. These go from 100% to 90% over about an hour, from 90% to 70% over a few hours, from 70% to 50% in half an hour and from 50% to 0 in minutes. You can think that you're fine at 70% battery and have the earbuds turn off in under half an hour.
