I actually used this item as a White Elephant gift, and it turned out to be quite amusing when it was unwrapped quickly. However, I did notice a small issue where the spider inside the box would occasionally get caught, which takes away from the intended surprise. The quality of the box is not very high, and I personally feel that it may not be worth the price. In my opinion, there are other prank boxes available that might be more satisfying.

The spider comes out alright, but the wire and spider need to be configured properly in order for the gag to work to the full advantage, the particular one I received needed improvement IMHO. I'm being nit-picky here especially considering this is a cheap gag. That being said, it was a gag-gift for my husband (who's not a fan of spiders) that I put in his Christmas stocking, he knew what it was before opening it so the gag was a bust for me, but he appreciated getting it and has used it (with success) on co-workers.

I put this wrapped in my granddaughters Christmas sock, she hates spiders, it was hysterical when she opened it!

I bought a number of these to give my grandchildren one y gift. The bill fit nicely in the bottom of the box. The kids enjoyed the surprise. They could be a little sturdier, as some spiders failed to jump out after a few minutes of playing with the box.
