Asics Men's Gel-Venture 9 Running Shoes

I got these for my son and he says it's the most comfortable pair of shoes he's ever owned! He spends a lot of time on his feet and walks several miles a day, and has issues with foot pain. These shoes have helped alleviate his pain so much! Fit was exactly as expected, style is pleasant.

Compared to other Asics that I have owned these seem to be stiff and not flexible for daily use.

I ordered these April 2024 and it is Aug. 1, 2025. They are my daily shoes and over a years wear isn't too bad, however they have been going bad for a few of months. I started to notice that both of my feet were hurting some near the "ball" of my foot a few months ago. Never really paid that much attention to it and counted it up as my sock bunched or worn out. This weekend I was at an Archery Tournament and after the tournament my feet were killing me. This morning when I sat down to put my shoes on I started looking really hard at the places in my shoes and where my feet were still hurting. The padding was completely gone in this area and I never realized it. About a 4mm (nearly 3/16") deep hole and over 20mm (over 3/4") in the insert. I noticed the wearing in that area a good 6 months ago but it really hasn't been a problem till about the last 2 months. Still, they lasted about a year before requiring replacements. How long should a pair of shoes last when you mostly work an office job?
