SLATE WALL PLATE TRIM KIT FOR THE GOOGLE NEST LEARNING THERMOSTAT Gen 2 3 & E

This came in last night and I put it on immediately. It really improves the look over the plastic plate. Note: Make sure to go looking through your fasteners and replace the underlying metal plates screws with flat head screws. I had used round head screws and the slate wouldnt screw down evenly. I removed the metal base plates screws and found some tiny recessed screws and this solved my issue. The slate fits snugly against the wall now. Great product.

I really like the quality of this slate back plate (I ordered two). I know other reviews mentioned some roughness on a few edges or around the circle. Mine came with very little roughness which I attribute to the handmade quality and that it's slate. Installation tip I found which worked for me is use a counter sink drill bit and counter sink screws to get a nice flush look.

This is a great addition for your Nest! Looks beautiful on our stacked stone wall. It was packaged nicely and everything fit just perfect, highly recommend!

Turned out great, I didn't like the cheap white plastic one that comes with the Nest for the wall I was putting this on. This gave it the right upscale look I wanted. (But really would like the vendor to give more color choices - would have preferred the gray slate.)Now what we really need is a vendor to create a Death Star Nest plate :)

i was skeptical about this thinking it would be too thin, too fragile, fake, etc.....but it's excellent and looks the bomb.

Nice piece of slate with correct cutouts for the Nest. You don't use metal plate unless you are installing over an electrical box. So this just goes on the wall with nest wiring base and 2 main nest screws. Love it.
