Any incense placed in one of the 4 holding holes will tilt at such an angle that when the burnt bits fall off they fall onto my shelf rather than being caught by the burner. I'm not sure if there a way around this that I haven't yet discovered.I still rate this pretty highly because it does serve its purpose and it is beautiful. I love it! I almost don't want to dirty it with incense so I use the small foil ring that comes with the incense cones to set in center and burn! They at least won't burn to the end like cones do!You can burn several sticks at a time as there are many holes in this dish!Would be pretty as a candle holder or even to put keys in by front door! I do not recommend this product for anyone for this purpose, however it is very cute as a jewelry holder for your nightstand.
