Wisdom and Inspiration for Young Girls
Shine, My Amazing Girl is a collection of stand alone short stories that each contain wisdom and inspiration for young girls. Each story follows a different girl through an experience that imparts a valuable lesson. The book contains lessons surrounding self-acceptance, authenticity, self-belief, inner beauty, courage, balance, standing up for what’s right, and acceptance. I like the fact that there is a little note of wisdom at the end of each story.Although the stories are about different girls, the girls are connected through their school so they pop up in each other’s stories. I think this is a great way to connect the stories and offer the reader some continuity across the book as a whole. I also love that the stories are written about girls from different cultures and walks of life.Overall, I think this is a fantastic book for girls in upper elementary and middle school. It’s very entertaining, relatable, and contains great lessons and encouragement for young girls.

Relatable stories for girls needing a confidence boost
My best comment is that my daughter enjoyed reading the book. As a Dad, I was initially drawn to Chapter 4 - But What if I Fail? I felt my daughter could benefit from reading about risk-taking and not being afraid to make mistakes. I wanted her to know that a lot can come from taking a risk, regardless of whether you win. Just have a little courage to see what happens. This book does an excellent job of helping girls connect to relatable situations that may occur in their own lives and building the confidence/self-esteem to handle them. Lots of powerful themes are covered in the book, and like I said, my 11-year-old daughter enjoyed the book for its powerful messaging and the dialogue used in the stories. It is an excellent book for a child needing a confidence boost.

My daughter and I loved this book
My daughter, who is 9 years old, is currently experiencing significant emotional and physical changes. I carefully choose books that can impart valuable life lessons, and 'Shine, My Amazing Girl' is one that I particularly liked. Before recommending it to my daughter, I read it myself. She not only enjoyed it but also read it quickly and became deeply immersed in the storyline. She has a habit of imagining herself in the shoes of the main character. The book addresses several important topics, and after reading it, I observed that my daughter contemplated its themes for an extended period. She even asked me questions about how one should handle similar situations and shared instances from the book that resonated with her. It's not just a distant story; it felt relevant to her life at times. We had insightful discussions prompted by the book, making it a compelling and unusual read. The writing style is approachable, and as a mom, I highly recommend it

Niece was riveted by the stories
This book has eight stories that are very good at giving ideas for girls on how they can make friends, deal with problems, and feel better about themselves. I read them to my niece, who was a little young for them (she can't read yet) but who was totally into them. She was so proud of herself when she was able to point out that a side character in one story was a main character in another.I think for a girl in middle school these stories are a great way to look at what is important to her and what could help in her life. If I saw how much my younger niece was into them I'm sure for a bit older child they'd be a huge success. I loved seeing the natural way the girls in the stories interacted with each other and that even the 'mean girl' had her moment of vulnerability. A great book!
