Modern Essentials: the Complete Guide to the Therapeutic Use of Essential Oils (GENERIC EDITION) 9th Edition in the Series

This is my first essential oil book and I am just beginning to use oils. This book is very detailed and is very much like a collegiate textbook in some ways. You will need to spend some good time learning the sections. There is information all over in the book. Some things are slightly scattered. There are blends given in a section (there is a dilution chart on page 213 that may help with that) so you may need to do backup research on mixing a blend. But also to help, page 30 (well before the blends section) spells out in detail the ratios for oils to make blends, massage oil, and perfumes etc. Another example is in the first of the book it lists oils alphabetically with detailed description on each, then in appendix a and b there are easy to use reference charts that show the oil and uses. Different sections on practical applications, such as the Living section - this one does have specific recipes with measurements etc (perfumes, house sprays, lotions, etc). Overall very happy with this book.

I bought this because someone I know very involved in essential oils recommended it and I'm so glad I did! I bought a used-very good condition one for under $13 and I don't think it had ever been opened! Fantastic price on a new hardcover book that is an excellent resource, very comprehensive. I love this book! It has details about every essential oil including easy to follow icons on how to use. It's a textbook as far as I can tell and is updated every couple of years. This is a must have book in my opinion.

Overall good lots of great information including scientific studies but many oils used for lotions not covered. I make body butter and muscle rubs did not include many ingredients like coco butter or cayenne

This is a scholastic type book. It is very informative. There is also a reference in the back to guild you into what is safe for kids, pregnant women, and at what dose.DON'T FORGET TO DO ALL RESEARCH. A LOT OF ESSENTIAL OILS ARE NOT SAFE FOR KIDS AND ANIMALS SO PLEASE KNOW WHAT'S SAFE.

As an essential oil user I have found this book to be very informative. It is very detailed, easy to read. Great way to help yourself, family and friends who are essential pil users.Your knowledge of essential oils and usage will expand greatly. All essential oil users must have a Modern Essentials book.

If you use essential oils or sell essential oils this is a guide you just have. Full of studies to support how, when and why to use specific oils. Tried and tested. Best on the shelf for me...

This book by Aroma Tools is exceptionally well published on excellent paper grade with faultless colour print pages, all laid out in alphabetical order to help those wishing to become good Holistic Therapists in Homeopathy as it guides the reader through the various stages from start to finish of selecting, mixing and applying the various oils.All this knowledge comes bound between two hardback covers and is best suited to be kept on your bookcase shelf whereas, a smaller version of this guide would be more beneficial to carry around.Sadly I cannot rate it from a users point of view, as it was given to someone with a greater passion than I, who is the mere purchaser.
