Love these little packets!
A friend suggested these to me so I took a chance and bought these in the salted watermelon flavor. I first tried them out the morning of a day of hiking at Yosemite. I was concerned about getting dehydrated throughout the day and brought a large bottle of water with me, but I think having a pre-hike Banana Bag and another at the end of the day totally curbed that dehydrated feeling. Since then I've had them occasionally when I'm working from home and am in the zone working on a project where I know I'm going to forget to refill my water sufficiently — it helps keep me from feeling sluggish. I also tried it on a winery weekend — same strategy as hiking, before going to bed after drinking and first thing the next morning — and I felt great the next day. (Context: I'm old enough to definitely feel it the next day if I have more than a couple glasses of wine or any alcohol, but I didn't go crazy with it either. It was enough that I was worried about feeling like crap the next day but I was pleasantly surprised that I didn't!) As for the flavors, I like the watermelon and I've also tried and like the orange — I'd say these are both lightly sweet. My favorite is actually the unsweetened lemon lime, with one caveat: I add a few drops of liquid stevia :). The unsweetened lemon flavor as-is tastes like lightly salted lemony water, not great but meh. After trying these and seeing how effective these are, the flavor is secondary to it's benefits. They don't taste bad, but I wouldn't drink these just for the flavor. I take these primarily for the health and physical benefits and they work well for that and just happen to be easy to drink.

Intensive emergency hydration that's easy to carry with you
I have a great deal of experience with hydration drink mixes. I currently have about 10 different types/flavors in my stash. I use them regularly... so this is not my first experience.Banana Bag seems to have a slight different focus on its marketing. Almost as if they're trying to be the first-aid type brand. So, I'm evaluating from that perspective.First, I like the compact, sturdy, and tidy packaging. Makes carrying this easy. There's a smaller volume of powder, compared to others of the sort. The sugar component is far less prominent. Flavor is less appealing, and more a cover for the actual taste... which is more akin to taking medicine than a sports drink would typically be.The flavor was unremarkable, compared to the B vitamin notes. Though nothing off-putting.I noted this product requires 8-16oz of water. I mixed mine with 16oz, and experienced less feeling of hydration than other powdered mixes of similar kind.I'll give it another try, but for the time being, my evaluation leads me to believe this isn't as effective as my preferred brand, or possibly, that this is genuinely doing something beneficial differently, which I'm not yet capable of anticipating.Either way, this is worthy of consideration. Even simply for variety.

Works but tastes like malodextrine and salt
The solution works but it tastes like malodextrine and salt. It's definitely medicinal and quite expensive. Not everything will dissolve in cold water, room temperature water works best.

Fantastic NEW flavor and great for travel
This is my FAVORITE flavor of the 3. It's not too sour nor too sweet. It's perfect! I love to use these for travel as they keep me hydrated and help with jet lag. I also struggle with many chronic illnesses that cause fatigue and the b vitamins especially help me get through. I think they've improved it as it mixes more easily than it used to! Less stirring required. It will flavor your water bottle as the b vitamins have a strong flavor (just like anything they are in) but well worth it because they have such a great impact on the body.

Ninja of Nutrients: Stealthy Hydration for Life's Acrobatics
After a particularly rigorous day juggling tech puzzles and chasing after my energetic youngsters, I was left feeling more like a drained battery than the usual powerhouse. Enter my new ally against fatigue: this nifty little hydration powerhouse. It's like a stealthy ninja, packing a punch of vitamins and minerals without the sugar rush that accompanies those neon sports drinks. I was skeptical about the salted watermelon flavor, and while it won't win any gourmet awards, it's definitely a step up from 'medicine-y' and does the trick when you need a quick revival. Whether it's post-workout soreness or a morning-after reminder of last night's escapade, this became an unexpectedly valuable addition to my recovery routine. It might be a bit of a splurge for some, but when it comes to bouncing back and keeping the family circus running smoothly, I say it's worth the coin.

Worked Well
Review for: Banana Bag - Pharmacist Hydration Recovery Formula Salted Watermelon 5pkAn important thing to know when hydration recovery products like these is that they are not meant for casual/daily use. The contents are strong and shouldn’t be combined with other hydration supplements. They are not like a casual sports drink- they are for dehydration when the body desperately needs a specific mix of vitamins to properly hydrate.I went out for a long, rough hike in cold weather to test these out. Being cold my water sources are frozen over and I can only take a limited amount of water with me. I had ample water with me, but purposefully minimized my use to properly test this mixture out. Once my typical symptoms of dehydration kicked in (dry mouth, bit of nausea and slightly sore throat) I followed the directions on the packet. The flavor had a very slight hint of watermelon that was heavy on a salty aftertaste- something I prefer as this wakes up my salivary glands. It is not something I would say tastes “enjoyable” but I knew that going in, as none of the true hydration mixes I’ve tested are made to be a casual drink mix.It definitely did its job! It was fast and effective.Overall, for $16 for a 5pk at time of review, I was very pleased with this product. The price is reasonable for me as I have other products for daily use, so these are perfect for my emergency supplies. I would feel reassured if ever in a situation where water was unexpectedly scarce, and feel confident in knowing these would do the trick.
