The Southern Poverty Law Center is constantly in the news for the important work they do. This book made me a believer. You can't read it without being touched by it. If I could give it more than five stars, I would. It is one of the most important books I have read.

Dees: A Man Seeking Justice
Morris Dees is a man seeking Justice for the "least of these" in our nation. He is a valiant witness for Truth, and he has traveled across America standing in courtrooms winning cases against villains that robbed the lives of others and hijacked justice. There have been times when no state, county, or city would indict the criminals, and Dees took those cases and won them. He is a true servant of humanity, and he has paid his dues to society by his brave and bold stands. Each our 50 states needs a Morris Dees working for Justice in America. His autobiography gives us glimpses into his life and work. He is our Clarence Darrow of the 20th and 21st Centuries. If you love Justice, Peace, and Brotherhood, this is a book that will reveal what one man can do. Having been threatened and abused for his stands he is a fine example for all men and women that want to help make America what she should be.

An intriguing life
This is a really good read. Morris Dees has had an interesting life, and to read about how he and his partner came to found the Southern Poverty Law Center is intriguing. It's like a novel!

Why do we need the Southern Poverty Law Center? Find out here.
I didn't buy this book for me, but for my adult children. I had received a copy from the author and I wanted my children to be familiar with the information within. If you're not knowing the history of discrimination in the south or if you're under the impression that the bias of the past is now all in the past, this is the book for you. Beside being an interesting autobiography, it's a compelling read on the great need for, and the accomplishments of, the Southern Poverty Law Center that the author founded.

A must read for everyone young [because they didn't live through these times and need to know what happened in the last decades of justice, or the lack of it... and race relations] and us older people who did live through those times [to refresh our memories and to learn new information of behind the scenes of how Morris Dees evolves, his bravery and his commitment].

Very good autobiography covers Dees's background and evolution from a poor sharecropper childhood background into one of the pre-eminent civil rights lawyers in the US.

To a very large extent "A Lawyer's Journey" is a repeat of "A Season for Justice." Buy one or the other but not both. Way too much alike and repeat the same things.

Makes me proud to be living in the same country as he.
Involving and touching story of the growing up of one of our nation's finest lawyers, the man who bankrupted the KKK in at least two states, and the Aryan Nations in Idaho.
