I use the hot plate weekly for my Sunday Roast but use Pyrex dishes with lids. It heats up very quickly and there is a knob to adjust to the temperature required. Keeps the food piping hot. Having moved to a smaller house with a much smaller kitchen I unfortunately had to get rid of my previous Hostess hot plate as I have limited worktop space.
