Not a knuckle buster wrench.
Love this tool. Locks on nut like vise grips.

If you only could have one wrench, this would be it.
I have to agree with most of the other reviews of this product. It is very useful and is made well. Its main advantage over a normal adjustable wrench is that it can be tightened with a grip of the handle to stay in place after you have removed your hand. Vise-grip type pliers will do the same thing but they have teeth that can mar or damage the finish or round the edges on the bolt or nut. I only wish they would make it in a 6 inch and possibly an 8 inch size. Even though the span of the 10 inch adjustable wrench can fit on bolts and nuts of a 6 inch or 8 inch wrench's span, you should generally use the size wrench that is best suited for the job. Otherwise, it is more likely that too much or too little torque can be applied to the bolt or nut, potentially causing damage to the threads or the shaft of the bolt, or potentially result a bolt or nut that will loosen and cause damage or injury.I have only had this wrench for several months so I really cannot attest to its longevity. However, I do wonder whether the wrench after years of wear will continue to apply enough grip to stay on the bolt or nut because the amount of grip is not adjustable as with a vise-grip type tool that has a screw to adjust how tight the wrench will get. However, I would not reduce the 5 star rating on this wrench because of this hypothetical future issue. I said in the title to this review that this would be the wrench you should have if you could only have one wrench. Well, I have many wrenches and I find this wrench a superior tool that everyone should have. Hint: Christmas is coming.

You laugh but...
These things are way handier than you think. Clamping a part you want to bend or using as a handle to move something, you will find yourself using these a lot!

Literally something I wrote Home about
I genuinely sent an e-mail to my brothers to let them know about this. I rarely do that. And I normally give only 3 stars for anything that's Average.-- I paid $30.56 in Feb 2023--cheaper now. "Amazon Basics" sells one for a Lot less.-- A couple things that always annoyed me with adjustable/Cresent wrenches is the outer tip is a bit tighter than the inner part--making it difficult to pull it off a nut and change location for the next cranking. AND they always seem to stretch ever so slightly when torquing hard on a nut.-- This has the added procedure of pushing the unlocking lever but re-clamping seems like a normal part of gripping the handle for the next cranking maneuver.--It comes in only one size, but 10-inch is pretty good for most tasks.--I like it.

A must have for your tool box!
I am a remodeling contractor on the weekdays and a shade tree mechanic on the weekends, after using this a few times, my conclusion is that this is a great tool to have on the job site as well as your toolbox! Give it a try! This is a perfect blend of the firm grip of a vice-grip paired with the versatility of a crescent wrench, in a pinch it replaces quite a few tools, it's great value for the money. Fit and finish is nice, not stellar, but plenty nice, seems like it will hold up plenty well. Tolerances are reasonable, once you snug the wrench up, lock it down and it's set, it hangs tight even on most damaged nuts and bolts. It's a bit more bulky than a regular adjustable wrench but not much more, it's perfect if you have space to work in.It's Made in China - even I would prefer made in USA but I couldn't seem to track one down. Regardless, this is still very affordable and right up there with the quality level of comparable, mid/lower level, USA made adjustable wrenches. It's very much worth the $10 or so they are asking.Note- some other reviews posted on here have me questioning the reviewer, seems to me like they were attempting to use this tool for a job that would be better suited for an entirely different tool. Doesn't seem to me like they were properly qualified for the task... Beware of some of the negative reviews, they only add confusion and mis-information.

This is the most awesome wrench ever
I use it on my boat to do things that would be impossible as one man jobs. It can latch onto a nut overhead inside the boat and hang there, unsupported, while while I go outside to turn the bolt from above. You just need to arrange for the handle of the wrench to hit something so it won't spin.It also works great to bend pieces of metal or plastic. You can clamp the metal in the jaws tightly and get a nice bend right where you want it.I even used it to remove a split dowel pin from the shift linkage of my outboard that the repair shop had placed there (I normally use a cotter pin that can be removed without a special tool), when I needed to change the impeller in the middle of a trip. If you spin the jaws tight and then close the locking handle the jaws will exert quite a bit of clamping pressure. More than you can get with a pair of pliers.Despite being stored in the dock box by the boat, moored in salt water, for over two years it hasn't rusted.

Give your toolbox a 20 HP upgrade. Throw away your combo wrenches.
Think vise grips had pre-marital relations with a crescent wrench, vise grips went to prison for a massive meth operation in Oklahoma, Crescent wrench became a single mom with a chest tattoo and a gold tooth after giving birth to this locking crescent wrench. This locking crescent wrench didn’t want to be like his awful parents, got his stuff together, and became a doctor while working his way through school to stay debt free. Broke the curse of generational trauma and is raising an all American, happy, healthy family…. What I’m trying to say is, get a set of locking adjustable crescent wrench. They’re just better. And they’ll change your life.
