The wood on the bottom is solid, a good thick piece so it doesn't bend, get misshapen, or warp (as long as you keep it liquid free), there is no poly coat on it so it's a natural wood look, which I love and wanted. The metal of the basket itself is thick and strong. The handles are the same, this is a good sturdy product for the price that's paid. I'd recommend anyone who is looking for that farmhouse look to invest in these. Will not disappoint.
