Excellent quality terry cotton - very soft and comfortable. I have tried cheaper terry cotton shorts before these and the material quality is inferior. These Spaulding shorts get high marks for comfort and material quality.I hand-washed these and wore them yesterday and they were very cozy whether sitting, walking, or standing. I plan to wear these a lot this summer.That said, I ordered the Medium per the size chart (I am a size 32 waist) and it was larger than expected. I was hoping for a tighter fit around the hips and a more tapered leg. These look okay for knocking around, but a little tailoring would make them look sharper.NOTE: Also, be careful of ink bleed when washing these! When I hand-washed these shorts in room temperature water, a LOT of black dye bled out into the water. I would recommend washing these separately at first if possible and then going forward with other dark colors. That was a lot of black dye that came out.UPDATE AS OF 1/5/2023:I liked these shorts and wore them so much that I decided to order the Small size during the holiday sale. Happily, this smaller size fits me much better. The bagginess around the thighs is gone. I'll still wear the Mediums for knocking around but lesson learned, be careful when ordering from the size chart or when the site "suggests" the right size for you. Most of the time they get it right, but not always.

I love my shorts. They are the right weight and they fit well and I just love them.

Made in Cambodia, these baggy cargo-like shorts are 100% cotton. Although described as Terry cloth, they don't have a towel-like texture on either outside or inside, and they certainly don't have the feel of the Terry cloth Lacoste shirts that were sold back in the 1970s. Rather, these have a more traditional brushed cotton feel on the outside and an unbrushed inside. There are two deep front pockets, an elastic waistband, and oversized drawstring. The Spalding logo is prominent on the left leg and will probably crack and flake over many washings. These are very comfortable and don't restrict movement at all. Perfect for anything from rock climbing to yoga.
