Pretty straight forward
I used these sponges to grow spinach, snap peas, mini tomatoes, romaine lettuce, and kale and they worked great. This was my second time ordering this product. I readily agreed to a promotional offer from the company for my second purchase since they worked so well the first time. If this is your first time ordering grow sponges just remember to cover the exposed parts of the pod if algae growth bothers you. I just scrape off the algae since I'd rather not take the time to cover the sponges and it's harmless. This will happen with any growth sponges so don't panic :) I also have transferred these sponges over to pots when plants get too big for my system. If you do this make sure they get plenty of water and consider keeping them inside for a week or so to give them a chance to adapt. Happy planting!

Perfect hydro sponges
When I opened these sponges, they were almost half the size of what I’m used to. I was worried. But these are AMAZING! Put them in water and they’re the exact perfect size and better! The trim is exact (no roughness or bending), the hole is perfect in size and depth (can even sprout snap peas with a slight tear), there is zero bacteria that others I’ve purchased can have (that can feed algae and mildew)…these are excellent. I bought more the moment I saw their final state. So great. You won’t be disappointed.

Not perfect, but they work.
I bought these because the aerogarden brand ones I usually use weren't available. These definitely aren't perfect, and I don't like them as well as the name brand grow sponges, but I will continue to see how things go in order to decide if I will buy them again. First off all, the size isn't exactly right... or uniform. I use these in my Aerogarden Harvest model with the seed starting insert, which has 31 small openings for grow sponges. Upon first glance, I thought these were really small, but they bulked up considerably after soaking them. Some fit pretty well into the slots, while others were too short and slipped down too far. I was able to rig these so they worked well enough. Also, I usually have some seeds germinate in only a few days with the aerogarden brand, but these took a little over a week before they started. This means that the algae really starting taking over. I'm hoping the rest of my seeds germinate before the algae gets too bad. On the plus side, these are way cheaper than the aerogarden ones.

They germinated less than 24 hours.
They look just like the ones I received with my Garden cube. I soaked them for more than 10 minutes and the lettuce seeds germinated within 24hours. They come with labels and medal tweezers. I ordered 2 boxes and will order again in the future.

Work great in my hydroponic system
I needed these as replacements for my hydroponic system, and they fit perfectly. They looked small when I first put them in the plastic cup, but they expand to fit it once they absorb water. It's nice to have the tweezers so I can place small seeds a lot easier.

Best price for aerogarden sponges I could find
100 Pack Grow Sponges: I have an idoo aerogarden and I got these and the more pointed plastic containers as they are much cheaper than the originals. I tend to have to replace plants after awhile when they get too big. These work as the sponges are consistent material, soak up the water well, and are the best price I could find at the time. They work the same as the originals that I can tell.

Mold and algae
Typically I use the sponges from iGWorks or the MUFGA ones but I went out on a limb and purchased these..let me say I’m new to hydroponics and I stick to what comes with my hydroponic systems hands down and at first I thought they were great but I was sorely mistaken. The majority of my seeds did not sprout or started dying in a slimy mess at 1.5 week seedlings and I couldn’t for the life of me figure out what it was I did wrong. It was not me. It was the sponges. They molded and had a film of green slime which I confirmed was algae. How saddening! I lost about 30 seedlings. All my other plants not in these sponges are doing perfectly fine. Also would like to state the water became way too bubbly as if there was a little dish soap in there. I think I will stick to the iGWorks pods for the uharvest.

Too small for aero garden
I have the AeroGarden and these are too small for the little plastic basket. I kept them bc you can push them into the side to them hold up but it’s a bit of a faff. The first batch also molded which I’ve never had before. I still have the stickers and the plastic dome so it had to be this soil. Overall I wouldn’t buy again since they’re too small. 3 stars bc you can still used them to grow the seeds.
