It's an effective remedy for a room with no ceiling light. Standing over five feet and with an adjustable angle for the shade, it shines down on the sofa, illuminating the entire area. The wicker shade looks homey and helps reduce glare while allowing light in all directions. It provides enough light for a room of about 325 sq. ft., although it doesn't get it to office bright. That's perfect here. The couch area is where we need light. Everywhere else, we just don't want to bump into stuff.The included remote connects to the bulb and allows for dimming and adjusting the bulb's "temperature" from warm to cool. Measured in Kelvin [named after some old British dude], bulb temperature runs from warm at about 3000K to 6000K, a shade close to natural sunlight. The difference is noticeable, and we like the warmer settings. The remote also allows you to set a timer.The one issue we noticed is that the remote only works with the bulb, and we can't find any replacement available. We discussed at length what to do when the bulb goes to bulb heaven, and we've agreed that we still like the lamp because it has a floor switch that works without the remote. We could replace it with a different smart bulb or, more likely, use a standard warm light bulb. We agreed not to deduct any stars over this concern because the remote wasn't a major attraction in the acquisition, and we appreciate that the remote helped us try the different bulb temperatures.

The lamp starts to lean after closing of return window.

The lamp is nice, and is easy to assemble.It has 3cct and is dimmable- but only with the remote control. The lamp is not touch sensitive and only has a foot pedal that turns it on or off- but cannot dim nor change the color temps. You must have the remote or the lamp loses must of its functionality.I cannot get the lamp to stand perfectly straight, no matter how hard I screw in the poles. It leans slightly. It will not tip over, but it does not look as nice as it would, standing perfectly straight.The lampshade is also nice, but lets the bulb shine through, especially at full brightness and high color temp. A 3cct bulb is included with the lamp.The price point for this lamp is very good- but I do not like having a floor pedal on the cord. i would much prefer a control on the pole. Trying to search for a foot pedal in the dark can be frustrating. Were there a switch on the pole, it would be much easier- but since the remote is so important to the functionality of the lamp, it is not likely I would ever use that foot pedal.So, with a lamp that has 3cct, dimmability and a much needed remote control, but with limited functionality without the remote, a foot pedal, no touch controls and unable to stand perfectly straight- but a nice price point, I think it is worthy of four stars,

I am loving the feel of this lamp in my living room! It went together super easy in a matter of minutes as you simply screw together the sections which are pre-threaded with the power cord. Then it screws into the base which is of a very good weight for stability so I certainly don't expect it to go toppling over. After that it's just simply attaching the lampshade and tightening the plastic ring which holds it in place. I opted to not use the included bulb or the remote as I am using my own smart bulb and adding it to my Alexa set up. If you use a regular bulb or a smart bulb, the floor switch simply turns the lamp on and off which is just what I was wanting. All in all, this lamp is pretty awesome and it feels well made and sturdy. I would definitely recommend!

The media could not be loaded.  Wasn't sure what to expect from a floor lamp. But I was pleasantly surprised when I got this one and put it together.First, putting it together. It comes all prewired. You have to screw 4 sections of pipe together and screw on the base as well as the shade. Took all of 5 minutes. One note - it would have been nice to have something to better lock the sections in place once put together.Next you add the bulb and put two AAA batteries in the remote. There is a foot-operated main power switch you turn on first. The remote should automatically pair with the bulb. Once done, you are set to go.The remote has 12 buttons on it that allow you to set the light brightness and color (soft or bright) without being at the light. I particularly like the computer setting as I have put this next to my desk in my home office.This lamp gives off a perfect amount of light for my small office and with the ability to choose the temperature of the light, should be very easy on my eyes.All-in-all, I'd recommend this lamp.

I think this is an okay floor lamp, but not great. The lamp came packed in shaped styrofoam which did a good job of protecting the lamp parts, but also shed clingy bits of styrofoam everywhere. The main upright is assembled by screwing sections of tube together, this went fine until I got to the part that screws into the base. The threads on the post have been painted, and therefore a little oversize. At first I thought I had gone crooked and was stripping the threads, but after backing it out and beginning again I realized that it was the painted threads that were wedging into the base threads. The post is pretty narrow and hard to get a real grip on, so the temptation was to use the curved section at the top for leverage. I didn't bend anything, but I'm not sure it would go so well every time.The shade is much more open than I had expected, the bulb is plainly visible as is the wire frame the cord is woven over. There is a remote control included, but no batteries were in the box. The remote allows you to change the brightness of the light as well as the color temperature of the bulb. The remote has a magnet inside so it will stick to the metal upright for storage. There is a foot switch that is a simple on/off function. Nothing really wrong with it, other than it looks kind of cheap. I would not buy this again, mostly because of the minimalist look of the shade.
