Wonderful, Non Greasy Moisture!
I've never used Carrot Seed Oil before but I'm very happy I bought this! When I opened the bottle and applied the oil onto the back of my hand, I noticed a slight earthy scent, I actually like the scent and it doesn't hang around so no problem there. The skin on the back of my hand felt butter soft and moisturized. I had to use it before bed to see how my face felt in the morning, all I can say if Wow! My skin felt so soft and smooth and moisturized. Usually no matter what oil I use at night I'm a bit dry in the morning, not with this oil! I will definitely purchase this oil again! Seems to be great quality.

THE FACTS AS OPPOSED TO CONJECTURE, GUESSWORK ETC.
I only received the oil yesterday (which by the way smells absolutely delicious) so cannot speak to whether it suits or will benefit me personally. However, after reading some of the reviews I went on a fact finding mission which I wish everyone would do before posting questions and, even worse, replying with wrong information. WHAT IS CARROT SEED OIL? - This oil is NOT from domesticated carrots. Has anyone even seen carrot seeds much less imagine how oil could be extracted from them? Carrot "oil" is a vegetable oil made from carrots. Yes! the kind we eat. It is made from a mixture of crushed carrot roots immersed in a carrier oil (olive, coconut oil etc.). It is NOT an essential oil. The company has clearly shown the scientific name of Carrot Seed Oil which is Daucus carota. A litte research and a lot less guessing show that both domestic and wild carrot are from the Daucus carota L, also called Wild Carrot, European Wild Carrot, Bird's Nest, Bishop's Lace, and Queen Anne's lace. (The last name said to be because the flower resembles lace, prominent in fine clothing of Queen Anne's day; the red flower in the center is said to represent a droplet of blood where she pricked herself with a needle when she was making the lace). Introduced to North America from Europe as a medicinal herb it is the ancestor of the cultivated carrot, edible when young, but the root rapidly grows woody and fibrous with age. BENEFITS: Scientific studies have shown that Carrot Seed Oil is effective at combating several strains of bacteria (may help relieve eczema), has some degree of effectiveness against yeasts such as Candida albicans and Aspergillus, has anti-inflammatory properties, and might be beneficial in cosmetics as a rejuvenator for aging skin.It also may be beneficial for hard-to-treat infections and for wound care. (From Healthline) CAUTION 1 - It shouldn't be ingested and should always be diluted with a carrier oil prior to using it on your skin. CAUTION 2 -To be noted is that Carrot Seed essential oil contains a compound called umbelliferone, or 7-hydroxycoumarin that absorbs UVB light and is commonly used in sunscreens. HOWEVER, there’s no evidence that carrot seed oil is safe to use alone as a sunscreen. While it might block UVB light, no evidence shows that it can stop sunburns or sun damage, or protect against skin cancer. And there is more both on the pro and con side. Please do your research. The National Library of Medicine shows the scientific studies.

Strong Smell, But overall Good
I don't like the strong smell, but it is lightweight, and moisturizing on my skin. (only used before bed) because i'm not sure the effects of using it in the daytime in the sun. I've also used some drops in my hair and I think it is helping with a burn area where I lost some hair! Will continue to use. It is very moisturizing. The smell is very "spicy" in my opinion. All you need is 2-3 drops. I haven't experienced any breakouts while using this oil either. I may not purchase again due to the smell, but it's OK for now.

Easy to Apply, Smells Delicious...Fits the Bill!
Fits the bill! It smells delicious (earthy and sweet) and is very well packaged -- light-proof amber glass bottle, lid screws on tightly, glass dropper allows for perfect titration of tiny amounts of the oil. What is carrot seed oil good for, anyway? And with so many essential oils out there, why use carrot seed in particular? Well, I personally use this in place of sunscreen (along with a sun hat and sun glasses). It only takes a few drops to get a thick layer over my entire face. Numerous applications per bottle. It is natural, organic, 100% chemical-free...and quite cost-effective, especially as compared to organic natural sunscreens. Added bonus: it is great for your skin and smells delicious! Your mileage may vary, so BE CAREFUL if using it for this purpose! I reapply each time I go outside just to be on the safe side. I will say, though, as a fair-skinned lady who burns easily year-round (in Boston!), this has exceeded my expectations. No sun burns yet...and it's almost July! (Tanning, yes.) Also take care when using this and all oils, as they can stain clothing and other fabrics and can make a greasy mess if spilled. Highly recommended! :)

Love the scent, but overpriced and customer service seems nonexistant
I had used this for several months because I find the scent to be wonderful. Unfortunately, I noticed no improvement in my skin while using it. I do find that the product is overpriced, especially without a certified organic seal. Another issue is that the customer service seems nonexistent. Over the last month I had called the number on the bottle and emailed requesting the country of origin of the carrot seeds used to make this oil. Still no response. I recently started using another brand where the seeds used to make the oil are sourced from Poland. The scent of the other brand is not as appealing as Allurals, but I have noticed a significant improvement in my skin after using the other brand, so I am happy with the way things worked out. I may purchase Allurals brand again at some time in the future, but only because I miss the scent.

Buy it.
This is the best carrot seed oil ever! It actually has a subtle carrot sent (if you’re sensitive to smells you might not like it). This brand is hands down the best. And I have tried many other brands but they felt feel thick, sticky and smelt like canola oil. I don’t mix it with anything. I use it as a facial serum and it’s lightweight. It absorbs nicely, feels nice and soft (not thick and sticky). Using this has helped my skin texture and pigmentation improve drastically. My skin even looks brighter! EDIT: they used to make bigger bottles now they’re 1oz instead of 2oz. I wish they made a much larger bottle tho… I really love this stuff.
