UGK Ridin' Dirty Release Date 7/29/1996
What you need a freakin' review? Where you just born or an alien visiting the planet H-Town Texas, "show no love for plexus". Ok, will here you go. UGK's third album, Ridin' Dirty, is their first to be released by a major label, which gives you some sort of indication of how far the group has gone in four short years. In that span of time, UGK scaled to the top of the small but vicious hip-hop scene in the Southern United States, creating a distinctive gangsta hybrid in the process. UGK is just as hedonistic and materialistic as those rappers out on the West Coast, but they don't infuse their music with the deep funk of the Cali scene, nor do they revel in the buoyant bass of their Miami brethren. Instead, they take a more stripped-down approach, which is all the better to hear their celebrations of money, drugs, women -- all of the typical gangsta accessories. If UGK doesn't really have something new to say, at least they have come up with an engaging way to say it -- the sound of their record is vibrant and direct, bringing you right into the thick of things. It's not exceptional gangsta rap, but it is entertaining.

Good ol' Country Rap Tunez
My first ever album when it comes to an artist(s) from the south. a highly-orchestrated level of production with charismatic poetry from the Pimp himself and hands down the dirty and yet the dangerously equipped lyricist, Bun B. If you are one of those folks that think southerners can't rap then you ain't heard of UGK. Smoke Sumthin'.

Not what i was looking for
There is a song that is playing on the radio now that is "riden' dirty", but not the "riden' dirty" song that I ended up buying on this tape.I wanted to buy the other song. Not knowing that I had the wrong recording I listened to all of the songs leading up to the song that I bought the tape for.I liked the beats a lot. Some of the lyrics were Ok too. But for me, the message that comes through was not agreeable.I wish more artists would make songs with Slammin' beats like this one, but with Lyrics that you can listen to with your kids or mother in the car. Thanks anywayI will give the CD to my cousin I think he will appreciate it much more than I do.

Classic album by one of the greatest rap duos in history!
Classic album by one of the greatest rap duos in history! Bun B and Pimp C changed the face of TX hip hop and put the boot down for anyone doubting that the South had lyricism, calling attention to Port Arthur and the Gulf Coast sound.
