Is the cover machine washable?

Yes. I believe this mattress moving bag is machine washable. I suggest to have the inner layer (silver layer) facing inside during wash.

Can you use it for a box spring?

Yes. I think it can also cover the box spring well. If your box spring is more heavier than mattress, please use the strap that comes with the mattress bag.

can i use this as a sheet? would that be comfortable?

I am so happy that somebody asked this question. I guess it really comes down to the definition of a sheet, on a philosophical level. I would go so far as to say that it could be used as much as a sheet as it could be used as an ill-fitted poncho. Does it get the job done? Well, it does repel water, and is certainly large enough to cover one’s self while lying on a bed. I don’t think though that it would be an ideal choice for either situation though, your mileage may vary.

if used all the time to cover our camper mattress, does it breath and does it make and crackly crinkly noise when sleeping on it?

I used this exact cover when I was raising a puppy in a camper to protect my mattress from constant chewing and yes it made the “crackly crinkly” noise but I ended up just keeping it on because when I store my trailer i keeps my mattress from mold and mildew and if you put a fitted sheet over the cover the noise goes away. Highly recommend
