Like New!!!
I'm a soon to be retired IT professional with 41 years under my belt and was looking for a light and compact laptop to take with me on my first snowbirding adventure this winter to replace/substitute for my older heavy IBM Thinkpad T61p and I found it in this one. It is absolutely equivalent if not superior to the old beast and was at a price point that did not break the bank. The vendor provided a reconditioned Lenovo Thinkpad that was absolutely in NEW condition and functioned well. Although after a few cycles of battery use, discovered the battery was probably not in such great condition. The vendor though enclosed a card with the shipment with their direct contact info to use in case of any issues discovered. So I contacted them and within hours replied asking if the address on the invoice was still correct, which it was and within a week had a brand NEW battery shipped to me. Now with this battery, the system operates well within the specs of a new system and I am very pleased with my purchase and definitely will not hesitate to purchase other products from them. I have customized the system and will be using this system as essentially a replacement to the T61p, since placing a free copy of "VMware Desktop 17 for personal use" and taken an image of the old Thinkpad and placed on the new system, which now runs much faster and easier than even the original. To completely outfit the system I also purchased a MOSISO 360 Protective Laptop Sleeve for 13-13.3 inch Notebooks, a Starfilm Screen Protector for Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Yoga Gen 5/ Gen 4 14 Inch Full Screen Protector andHitachi LG External CD/DVD Drive | Portable Player Burner for Laptop. All of which fits perfectly in the sleeve and is very easy to pack away for my travels which will be to Texas, Florida, Costa Rica and Belize

Please don't buy Amazon renewed and from this seller. Save your money!
Laptop was not used for 1.5 months because my kid's college didn't start. By September when it's used, it was intermittently restarted (biweekly once or so). In October, it restart and at times won't restart at all for half na hour or sometimes more. We requested a replacement of the same unit and they rejected saying time's over. Amazon isn't helpful also. The unit came in as pristine condition from appearance perspective. Please save your money and go to Costco as they won't do something similar like this seller and Amazon does. Now, I've to buy a new laptop for my child. You can't reach them over phone as your voice message won't be returned. The written message they say to Google their company and reach out to them when use the Amazon platform to reach them. Please avoid this seller and save your money as you will be wasting your money. Amazon is not the same as it was before and I should have spend 350 extra at Costco for a new unit and have some peace of mind.

Battery is shot *edit - they made it right
* edit - tekrefurbs.com took care of replacing the battery right away. I am very impressed with their customer service. I messaged them through the app Sunday evening and had a response before I woke up Monday morning. I wish it had been right the first time but things happen, and when brought to their attention they immediately did the right thing. I raised my rating from one star to 4 because I do like the laptop and they did stand behind it and take care of getting it fixed. If I hadn't had any issues I would give this laptop a 5 star review with the caveat that it's for productivity and you can't really game on it.If you want to game you really need a discreet graphics card not integrated graphics like this one (Intel uhd 620). The only way this will play any real games is through cloud gaming or streaming from another computer, I.e. your not even going to play fortnight low settings. The pen works well and for productivity this thing is great. It's very nice having the pen slide right into the laptop so they are always together. It works well in tablet mode, the touch screen is very responsive.Original review: I am very disappointed with the refurbished laptops on Amazon. I was hoping to save some money by buying a used laptop. The laptop that I received first was a different one but the keyboard stopped working after about 2 weeks.I bought this one which was a little more expensive and seemed like it would be better. It lasted about a week and the battery progressively went from bad to unusable. It's sad because I really like it but it doesn't work. It is a good size for my needs, compact, thin and light weight. For a few days the battery would last about 2 hours at most when it's rated for around 10 hours which was already a problem and insufficient for my needs. Then it got to the point where I would charge it and go somewhere to use it and when I pulled it out of my bag it would either be completely dead or say 100%, but a few minutes later it was at 0% and shutting off. I don't believe that these people are actually refurbishing them, they can't have tested this battery on this unit.Maybe something slipped through the cracks. I messaged them and I'm waiting to see if they will pay for a new battery, otherwise this will sadly be the second laptop I have to return in less than a month. The laptop seems good with the exception of the battery not working which makes it evening more disappointing. It's logs say Open office used 35% of the battery in 1min, avg used 16% in 1 min. All the background processes used 1-13% each in 1 min. It works while plugged in but I need it when I have no access to an outlet. This thing has left me completely embarrassed twice with a non functional computer making me look irresponsible and unprepared. The first time I pulled it out and it was dead after being plugged in all night, The second time I watched my battery fall off a cliff just as I was starting to take notes. By the time the speaker got started it was completely dead and shut off.A Refurbished laptop seems like a good idea, save some money and they have made sure it's in good working order. Sadly refurbishers seem to be selling used laptops as if they are refurbished without testing or repairing them.My only need for this is taking notes and email, I have not used it in any power intensive ways. If they replace the battery I will be presently surprised and update this post. I don't want to spend as much as a new one costs but I need to be able to depend on my computer when I need it.
