I’ll admit I’m a big fan of TP Link products in general having many of their smart products, from routers, to smart plugs, and even security cameras. I’ve owned this brand of Wi-Fi router in the past so I felt pretty confident in spending a bit and upgrading to their Wi-Fi 7 router. Now to be fair and perfectly honest, upgrading to a Wi-Fi 7 router at this point in time is way early to the game and for the large majority of people quite frankly unnecessary. I like to stay a little bit ahead of the curve so I thought I’d bite the bullet. On any given day, I have probably 70+ devices connected to the router. And out of that many only about three can even connect to the newest 6 GHz band on this router to take advantage of the fullest speed possible. And this is why I would suggest that most people hold off on buying Wi-Fi 7 at the moment, at least until smart devices catch up and can access the 6 GHz band. Even my Apple TV 4K cannot access the newest band! Now onto this router specifically, so far, I really love it! I’m using just a single router to cover an entire 3000 square-foot house and it’s doing a fantastic job without need to buy other mesh routers and increase the spend tremendously! I honestly can’t believe how small this thing is compared to most huge routers that can provide this same level of speed! As is typical with TP Link routers, the Wi-Fi speeds are as fast as I expected! The set up was super fast and easy using their Deco app. In fact, I can manage almost everything I need to within the app. This includes changing the DNS settings to either Cloudflare or Google. With prior routers from TPLink I was having to go to a website to manage deeper settings on the router, but not so with this one, and that makes things quite a bit easier. Another thing that makes this router very useful for me is the 2.4GHz IOT Band that is specifically set up for those devices. So basically, I set up all of my smart plugs, cameras, and everything else on that band to maintain better privacy. I really like that they included this feature on these routers! I have AT&T fiber with 1000Mbps service and as you can see with the included picture, I’m actually getting a nice chunk over that! But keep in mind I was right next to the router in getting this result. As you move further from the router, the speeds will move down in tandem. Overall, I’m very happy with the router and hope it will provide many years of service!

This product is so good we bought two. It is a little pricey, but worth the money. The signal strength is excellent and the setup was very simple and easy. We bought a second one to extend the signal to a room over our garage and it works perfectly. Best wifi we have ever had.

I switched to TPLink about 3 years after deciding that I needed a mesh network for full coverage of my home. This device was the latest upgrade to my network and I love the features of it as well as the ease of use. The app is simple and straightforward, but is also feature-rich and gives me lots of options. Dynamic QOS was easy to setup and has improved the overall experience. I also like having the ability to upgrade my devices over time without having to do a full rework of the network. I just add a new device and switch the main router over to the best thing I have. It's two steps and super simple. Highly recommend. I have also been able to set up my parents and my sister on the system and they are able to make me a co-manager of their network. That way I can help them troubleshoot even from four states away.

My CR1000A Verizon router broke. I upgraded from G3100 for speed reasons but G3100 was so stable. Not a week after my friend 's CR1000A broke, mine did too. I was frustrated without Internet. Most routers are so ugly and distasteful with so many antenna looking like a UFO about to take off. All my furniture were white so I didn't have a whole lot of options. My initial choice was Google Nest but it was so basic even though it looks good. So I opted for this good rated one. It's half the size of my Verizon router. I love that white cylinderical look. The LED indicator of green saying connection to internet and red saying disconnected is just so helpful. Now, I'm happy with the purchase for my use. I have a small place so mesh is not necessary. In fact, I might return it if I needed mesh. My friend has Google Nest and it runs smoothly. Deco was causing issues because mesh was on. I read forums and found that it's a known issue so I went into all my devices and turned off mesh mode. It was trying to find the best signal for me and if I'm moving away from the router/node, it was dropping connection. I cannot say if this issue is no longer there if there's another node. For me, as only using a single node, it was necessary for me to turn off mesh mode individually in all my wifi devices. If you are having problems with this as a single node, try turning off mesh mode and 'fast roaming'. If you have hard wire switches throughout your house, make sure you power cycle them. I was scratching my head trying to troubleshoot why my wired speed were 1/3 of what it should be. Power cycling the switches fixed it. Wireless speed is amazing. There's no drop in speed. It's exactly the speed I subscribed from my ISP. Another upside to this router is that it has 2.5gbps LAN ports. My house is wired in CAT 6 and 7 so I can take advantage of this except I'll need to upgrade my switches, NAS and computer NIC, lol. For the premium price I paid, it should have been 10 gbps LAN because even the Verizon CR1000A has 10 gbps LAN. I don't get why 10 gbps LAN tp-link routers are above $500. Unbelievable. Wait a few years I guess. With Verizon, I used to have to use a desktop web browser to manage my network which I didn't know was so outdated. I can now do all of that from Deco app on my phone. It's so intuitive and didn't need a whole lot of learning or prior knowledge. I love this Deco app. I can see all my clients, separate IoT network for my wifi light switches, reserve DHCP address, block, isolate clients, etc. all on my phone. That's so convenient. I tried chat support with Deco support. I had a pleasant experience. Didn't have to wait too long. The support guy made sense and knew what he was saying. Bottom line: It looks good and it works great once the mesh mode is turned off in single-node configuration. It's $100 more expensive than what I wanted to spend on but I didn't have a lot of options for white routers that looks great, works great, and fast.

It's been really hard to buy a good router lately. We've had to choose between hideous contraptions that look like belly-up spiders, or unassuming bricks that don't mess up your home decor but mess up your internet connectivity by not being good at their main job. Is the TP-Link Deco BE63 (Wi-Fi 7) a good router? It appears so. That'll depend on the durability factor a year from now. But so far, the router was easy to set up. It is giving me the close to a gigabit of speed I'm paying for, and it covers my 1050 sq-ft apartment just fine. A couple of odd ends though: Many will find off-putting having to create an online account with TP-Link in order to set up the router. I wish it had the option of connecting to a web page and do the setup the old-school way, but it is what it is. Another odd thing is that this router does not have a dedicated WAN port. You can plug the cable from your modem or wall socket into any of the four ethernet ports and the router will take things from there. Just in case, do not plug any other wired internet device (computer, gaming console, NAS or VoIP phone adapter) into the router until you have confirmed your internet is working via Wi-Fi. All in all, not a bad user experience so far. Could it have been better? Yes, but not bad for today's standards. Hopefully this router lasts more than a year. I will update this review to see how that goes.

I had the 3 pack of these decos and I was seeing slow speeds and drop outs in certain places in my house. I bought this to fill the gap, it was simple to add and with 3 minutes it was hook up and boosting my coverages. Now I can surf my full Gigabit speed through the entire house. I can also hook anything that I want to run faster directly to the 2.5G ports on the unit. The app is simple and powerful and they work well once setup. If it gave me the coverage it was supposed to with three I’d give 5 stars, so I deducted one.

This device is a half baked buggy mess. My router crashes constantly, resets itself, or devices just drop out randomly. Even devices connected with ethernet will sometimes just not connect, leaving me to unplug the ethernet cable to replug it, at least once a week (yes I've replaced all the cables with new ones). Seamless roaming just doesn't work, and my phone never connects to the right node. I can be 5 feet away from a node in direct line of sight, and my phone will still try to connect to the node across the house with 1 bar of signal. I've tried every possible Android setting to make seamless/fast roaming work, but it just wont, whereas on my friend's Netgear mesh network to roaming is quick and works wonderfully. Also, the app barely works, and even when it does the list of connected devices is almost always wrong. You have to force close the app and launch it again for the device list to refresh and show you a semi-accurate list of who is connected. The worst part? I have a v1 unit, and apparently they've already released a successor v2 model that people report is stable and great. This is made worse by the fact that this v2 unit is the first to get all the shiny new firmware features, with it just having been upgraded to firmware 1.1.0, whereas my v1 unit is still stuck on firmware 1.0.8 and missing loads of features. And, insultingly, my two much older satellite XE75 Pro nodes were just updated last week with LOADS of new features, like eco-mode and Wireguard support, but I'm locked out of all of those features because the BE63 v1 doesn't support those features yet. Now, maybe I'm just old-fashioned, but it seems super weird to me that your older devices are getting features and updates that your newer devices aren't getting. It really feels like a spit in the face for buying this new unit, and I would have been better off just sticking with XE75 Pro's only, as at least then I'd be able to use the new features! And to make it all worse, TP Link support is absolutely miserable, and they keep asking me for logs and to spend hours wiping my network and resetting it from scratch. And after sending them everything they ask for, or having to tell to to wait because they want a very specific log only when the router has just crashed, they'll just randomly close my ticket due to inactivity. I swear, I will never buy from TP Link again. They're device and firmware release strategy is an ugly, bloated, confused mess, and their support sucks.

This is hands down the easiest router I have ever tried to set up! The deco app on my mobile device walked me right through all of the steps and had me back online in my home in just a short period of time! Now to the good stuff....I purchased this router to pair with my Hitron CODA 56 Modem and both are playing very well together so far. I am a spectrum gig plan customer and with this router I am getting everything I am paying for. The app lets you know everything that is going on in your network in "real time" including all devices connected and what your upstream and downstream speeds are achieving. Also, you can select each individual device that is currently online and customize what ever frequency you wish to push it on. My home is a moderate ranch home with 1500 square feet of living space so I felt that the single deco unit would be plenty enough to push through my home for sure since it is listed as 3500 square feet of range per unit. I have multiple Smart TVs with 4K screens. Gaming computer, tablets, Google hub, 2 Google flood light cameras and the Google doorbell camera. 5 smart smoke and co detector's, smart thermostat etc...all online at once. This router by itself is a pure beast! I haven't had a single performance drop on any of my devices since I got them all connected though the app. My gaming computer is connected through wifi and I am getting over 760mbps on every speed test. I am very satisfied with this router so far. It is very user friendly and the performance is as good as I could ask for. Thank you TP- Link!!!
