A good source for information in the Career of an outstanding Aircraft
This is a good book that covers the basic details of each unit that operated in Vietnam with the A-6 Intruder, both Navy and Marines. As with any small book, it is hard to cover many details as there is so much to talk about but I believe there is enough basic info on the subject for anyone looking for historical information on the A-6 operations in Vietnam. It also contains some photos (some in color) of different Intruders during the service through the war. It provides info on some specific serial #'s and their fate. If you are a scale modeler this can be a good source not only of inspiration but can provide you with some of the typical weapons loadouts that were used early and late in the war. I personally like very much the book and the info it provides. If you are looking for technical specs on each Intruder version and technical drawings this book does not provide that info. It is more focused on the units, types of aircraft they used., periods of time of service, some of the missions performed, etc. I recommend for anyone intesterested to learn about the history of a remarkable aircraft and the brave man and heroes that flew them as well as scale modelers looking for references and inspiration.

Drop bombs and HIT the target..DAMN!!!
This is a good read about the development and deployment of this often unappreciated airplane. This thing was really the first and only airplane available at the time that used electronics to find the target accurately and hit it regardless of the weather. This book is well illustrated and has great stories in it, including one pilot's premonition about the war's future. A great addition to my library.

A-6 Intruders Vietnam (Combat Aircraft)
I like that the author made the story personal and about the men who flew and were NFO's in the A-6 Intruder and didn't just dwell on the technical aspects of the aircraft. I also appreciate his telling the history of NFO in this particular airplane as my late husband was an NFO/ECMO in the EA-6 during the Vietnam. I appreciate anything that helps me understand his job and the risks involved better as he was unable to talk about what he was doing because it was top secret at the time.

A-6 Intruder Units of the Vietnam War
Well written by a former pilot of the Intruder....he states in the first chapter that this book is a brief 'overview' and that another volume is too follow detailing more operations and usage. That will be well received....what the author wrote in THIS volume is superb. The usual spectacular profile art is also there! I'd highly recommend this book!

I lived it.
Superior research !! Morgan answered many of the rumors & cleared up what occurred in the A 6 units after I completed my 68 & 69 cruises with VA 165. Not many of us are left ;I'd like to hear from those who also followed ( the yellow brick road ). Appreciate Amazon making this fine book available at reasonable cost & shipped in a timely manner. cb

Intruder gets its Due
Another book up to Osprey standards for their excellent Combat Aircraft series. Comprehensive without being tedious. Plenty of photographs and Laurier's usual well drawn and researched profiles. Rick Morgan makes this better than most with his bright, readable style. The opening section makes or breaks books in the format and here Morgan shines. Worth getting for the overview of the A-6 alone. A must have for aviation fans.

A6 Resource...history
Good resource. Accurate...At least as far as I can tell having flew the A6 in Vietnam '67-'68. The book is part of my library. I'd do five stars but I don't know it all to be able to judge.

classical goodness
As usual, a deep and entertaining history of the operational career of a not so glamorous but efficacious aircraft. A very fine collection.
