Good helmet
I'm a reverse letter welder for my company. We build signs for businesses and every reverse letter welder before me never used a helmet, they would just turn their head to the side when they tack. I've never owned another helmet before this one so I can't attest to its proficiency but I attach my light to the top of the hood and get to work, thankfully I'm able to see better nowadays out of my right eye due to using the helmet so I can say it works haha

Clearest lense I've ever had
I bought this for my job, where I weld 2 to 3 times a week. I've had it for about a month now and the only regret I have is that I waited so long to buy a quality hood. The view is so much clearer than the cheap Chinese auto darkens I've used, and miles above anything Lincoln makes. This hoods only real competitor is a speedglass. At first I was hesitant spending the money but I'm glad I pulled the trigger. To all new welders, its worth it. Buy a good hood first and learn how to weld by SEEING. This hood and a speedglass are the only hoods I'll use in the future. Also, the "x-mode" is a must have if you weld outside or in tight positions regularly, I can't express the frustration of having an auto darken hood and using it outside on a sunny day just for it to basically convert to a permanent shade hood from the sunlight. Or being flashed by a piece of tubing blocking the photosensor while you're contorted in a frame. The "x-mode" function is basically an electromagnetic field sensor, so bright shop lights and the sun won't trigger the darkening, and it can sense an arc around a corner or behind a plate. Now for the only negative. The headgear is weird. Its not uncomfortable after you spend a week figuring out how to adjust all the pieces and moving parts, and the hold up lock that a lot of folk complain about is completely fine (is snaps into the upright position, something no other hood I've had has done) but if you have longer hair you'll be wearing a cap whether you do normally do or not. Too many moving parts and adjustments in my opinion, I've gotten used to it but if I could change one part, that'd be it.

BEST Helmet I have ever used but not perfect
This is my 5th helmet but my first name brand helmet. Don't let 4 stars fool you this is a great helmet but there are a few anoying features that make it not quite 5 stars. First the pros:- GREAT Lens. I love the clarity- easy and intuitive digital controls- auto on as soon as it detects a flash! (didn't know it did that. I love this feature!)- Nice and roomy with big view area- Flip up lock is sturdy and doesnt come down without effort despite the weightNow the cons:- Head gear is weird and finicky. I can't quite get it adjusted solidly to keep the display from slamming onto my nose when I flip it down. also taking it off and on seems to always be readjusting it. This has something to do with the weird hinged back- Helmet is HEAVY! it is trying to alway roll down on the top of my head- digital infinity lens is not compatible with any other standard helmet so I can't swap it into one of my cheapies that is much lighter- The lock up detent is only on the right side which feels weird. I'm worried that heavy helmet will wear that out.Bottom line: Digital infinity lens with is the best I have ever used (even better than the viking 3350) but I just wish they'd do something about the weight and headgear weirdness. on the plus side, it might protect you being hit in the face by a 2x4.

Shield is good, but replace the headgear as soon as you can.
I am a professional welder that has worked in a fabrication shop for close to 5 years now. After my Lincoln Viking 3350 died (3 months out of warranty), my company offered to reimburse me for one of these. I went ahead with it, even though I've always preferred Lincoln hoods. That being said, the screen and shield portion on the infinity are very good. The shield is roomy, lightweight, and allows for plenty of relatively fresh air to flow around your face. The screen is very large and incredibly clear. All that being said, the headgear on this (and all Miller hoods) is awful. I have lasted a little over a month with it and am ready to jury-rig the Lincoln headgear on. Initially, the Miller headgear was decent, it does a good job to distribute the weight all over your head and will lock at the top when you flip it up to rest. After a few weeks of wearing it, the headgear is pinching on the sides of my head and no longer locks at the top. The majority of welders at my job have Miller hoods and have replaced the headgear for specifically this reason, and I will be too.The exterior screen protectors are curved and proprietary, which is a little frustrating. We're able to get them pretty quick from our supplier but for a hobby or home industry welder I would absolutely understand this being a break point. In closing, I'd recommend this hood for the shield portion and the screen - but i'd replace the headgear as soon as I could.

Amazing view, headset okay
This welding hood works for me and I’m sure anyone else. If you are welding 10 hours a day you may change the head gear up, but this works for me as I am a full time equipment technician. Protection and view is 5 star. I can see as if it’s daylight. Will be buying again if needed!

Very expensive doesn't have a gasket on the outside lens to stop the welding smoke
Stick welding the smoke's going to go between the outside lens and the auto dark lens. So you can't see. Save your money. Buy something cheaper. X mode is just annoying. Cant feel the grind button have to take the thing off to see if I put it in weld. Total failure. I paid for the name ! Bs !
