A new pair of Red Wing Heritage boots should fit comfortably tight on your foot, with enough room to freely wiggle your toes. Over time, the full grain leather upper, leather footboard and cork midsole mold to your feet, creating an enduring and customized fit over time with each wear. Goodyear welt construction . CLEAN - Light Cleaning - Use warm water and a soft bristle brush to remove stuck-on dirt. Then use a clean, dry cloth to wipe away any remaining excess dirt . Deep Cleaning - For heavily soiled areas, use a clean cloth or brush to apply Red Wing Shoes Leather Cleaner. Wipe the cleaner away with a damp cloth and allow the leather to dry. Condition - Proper conditioning helps preserve the finish and life of your footwear. Use Red Wing's All Natural Boot Oil, Mink Oil or All Natural Leather Conditioner. Review: These are my favorite boots. Wolverine 1000 miles are trash in comparison and I’m not going back to Wolverine after switching to these. They are sturdy, comfortable and stylish.
Review: I purchased these boots when they were on sale and I couldn't be happier! I'm usually a 11.5-12 in normal shoes but read up on these. I ordered the 11D and they fit perfectly. They were a little snug at first but after an hour or two they already felt broken in enough where they were comfortable. I plan on purchasing some arch support but for the most part these do a good job. My feet have very high arches so this is needed for most shoes. I plan on purchasing more Red Wing boots in the future.

**Q: Can these be re-soled?**
A: Heck yeah they can!

**Q: Are these waterproof?**
A: If you mean are they able to be submerged in a lake without your foot getting wet, then no they are not. They do very well in rain and snow, but they are not "waterproof" One's feet will get wet with prolonged exposure/immersion in water.

**Q: How’s the width?  I see that most people recommend going down one size, but how’s the width on them?**
A: I agree with James here. The width is a little narrow and these shoes are stiff as heck until broken in, I recomend using a leather conditioner as soon as possible to assist in this process and protect the fine leather of the boot. They are somewhat longer though, I normally wear a 12 and I purchased a 11.5 in store and I still have a little room. I recommend going to a Red Wing specific store if possible before purchasing. The one I went to in Phoenix, AZ was super helpful and they had a machine that you stand on that measures your foot size and pressure points to give very accurate shoe sizing and possible insole considerations. There is not really any kind of insole in the boot so once it is broken in you will definitely want to consider adding an insole.

**Q: I wear size 8 Adidas, should i order size 7 or 7.5 for the iron ranger?**
A: I ordered a half size down and mine fit me great, the breakin period sucks but after 2 weeks and some insoles these are the best shoes iv ever owned.

These are classic Red Wing boots and they look really good quality out of the box. They do look a little bit too shiny and new if you like your boots a bit worn in and beat up, but give them time and search for images of worn pairs if you want to see how good they'll look in six months or six years. Sizing is recommended at a half size down from your regular size. I already owned a pair of Red Wing Harvester a half size down and had tried the Iron Ranger before so the fit is perfect.
