this thing will move some volume and it has a great flow. So far so good

Pump would randomly change speed up and down causing the sump level to change and ato to pump water adjusting salinity down. Returned for refund.

I love this pump. I have a 13.5 gallon nano saltwater aquarium and it was suggested I buy a more powerful pump than the one that came with it. This pump was actually recommended to me when I bought souped up filtration chambers for the back of the tank. I needed a pump that would push the water flow a little harder through those chambers. This one works great. I did have to cut off the nose of the pump to fit in my back chamber 3 but that nose isn't needed for a fish tank - just for pond use.The DC controller works great to turn the flow up or down which I do every now and then to simulate natural conditions and one of the things I like the best is that if you hit the feed button the flow stops for 10 minutes so you fish food can actually get caught by the fish and isn't blowing around your tank. It really does come back on after 10 minutes at the same intensity that it was set on. I will say that it has a sound though. My tank is in the hallway right outside my bedroom door and if the house is very quiet I can hear it. I have 10 fish tanks though and they all make some kind of noise so I'm not bothered by it. I am very satisfied with this pump.

The media could not be loaded.  I really wanted to like this pump. On opening the box it appeared to be very well made, and a good design. I really like that it was designed for saltwater and had a ceramic shaft. I was really looking forward to using a DC variable speed pump versus my current AC pumps. However, unfortunately I was disappointed. The first pump I received made a very annoying high pitched whining sound. I contacted the seller who was very responsive, and immediately sent me a new one. The new one is better, but for a DC pump which should be basically silent, it still makes some noise. I then noticed the locking feature on the controller was not working. This is an important feature so that your speed setting does not get accidentally changed and overflow your tank. I contacted the seller again, and once again they were very responsive. They told me to try holding the + and - simultaneously for a few seconds until the light flashed twice to lock and unlock it, but it still did not work. You can see that in the video. He said he would contact the manufacturer to research it. I will say this pump is very powerful which is good. However, another thing that I do not like about the pump is that it does not go slow enough on the lowest setting. I use 2 pumps together in case one fails while I am away, I still have some return. Using both of them on the lowest setting is a little too much return for my overflow. Again, the seller has been very good and responsive, (which is why I gave 2 stars rather than 1) but I have to leave an honest review. If I hear back from the seller with resolutions to these issues I will update the review.

I used this on my BioCube 32 and it provides plenty of flow at about 80% power. My only complaint is the controller does not have mounting tabs or a mounting bracket, it just comes with some double-stick tape. The tape doesn't stick well to the ABS back panel in my base cabinet.

I got the 530 model. I used this pump today in a five gallon DYI bucket based car heater core continuous reverse flush. The variable speed is a great and well working feature. I was able occasionally ramp it up but still for most of the time run it continuously on lower range so as not to put too much pressure on my heater core. Impeller seems to have been able to deal with the fair amount of grit that came out of my core. I do worry that I might misplace the pumps remote.There are a number of very similar models, but this one is well priced making it a good value.I will revisit the review to note any early or unexpected failure, but I did run it for about five hours with no issue so far.

I got this pump to run an extra manifold on my aquarium UV system. It is completely silent. Does not produce heat. Has more than enough power for two feet of head pressure and provides more than enough flow for this system. The controller is easy to see from a distance and simple to power up or down if needed. What i like most is how easy it is to disassemble for cleaning and maintenence.You cannot go wrong with this pump. Exellent value for the price.
