Does not appear to work fully. Drive reads all disks tried with it, CD and DVD. Drive will not write to any disk, Windows reports not able to format this media. Other software reports incompatible media. This has been tried on CD-R CD-RW DVD+RW and DVD+R none of which work. Drive has been tried and is the same with windows 10 and windows 7.This appears to be a defective unit but issues was resolved very quickly by supplier.

Could not get this to work, eventually my son came home from uni (studying computers) and after much trying he pronounced it dead. It repeatedly said on screen “....not recognised”- sorry I don’t know anymore, my sons instructions were to contact seller and inform them it doesn’t work. I had immediate reply to my email and have received full refund. Excellent customer service.The stars were awarded for customer service ...only!

Seems a good piece of kit, it was not expensive and does the job for which I wanted it, it's quite compact so doesn't take up too mush desk space, has a good finish and works well, I download into iTunes and it is fine with that operating through Windows 10

My new laptop came without a DVD drive and I had software on DVD I wanted to continue to use. This allowed me to load the software I needed. So far I have only used it this once but it would be useful for watching DVDs or for writing archive files to DVD/CD. It is compact and attractive to look at and mounted normally with no fuss.

Found this a bit of a pain to use (Windows 10). Have tried various DVD player apps and struggled to get the player to work first time (programs hang). Have to unplug from USB, then plug it in again or take out disc, reinsert, close DVD player app (VLC) or use Task Manager to close it down, or various combinations of the foregoing until it decides to work, which thankfully, it did after half and hour faffing about and about five seconds before I'd have launched it into the bin. Would really struggle to recommend based on my experience. Maybe you'll have more luck. Are you feeling lucky?

Great device at a low cost. Having recently fitted a USB 3 card to my tower PC, I decided to ditch the old USB 2 DVD Writer and get myself a new one. Because this new writer draws power from the USB 3 connection, no additional power supply is needed. One less length of cable at the back of the computer getting tangled and gathering dust!

Looking for an external dvd player was pretty tricky since not many will work on a Windows 10 device but this one works just fine with it! It does have some issues in that it'll not always work on the first go, often you slide the tray back in, the disc starts playing and then the tray pops out of its own accord so you have to start all over again, unplug it from the laptop, open the tray, connect it to the laptop again then shove the tray closed again but regardless of that it works with windows 10 so I'm not complaining!

Using the slimline cdrw is a great way to copy music and films to cd/dvd its easy plug and play design is great as you don't need to add lots of running operations on your device. Its simple and easy to use great looking light weight and stylish. Great piece of gear would highly recommend it to anybody else
