I love this show, so well written. Always support’s positive feelings and great for binge watching

This was a first rate comedy on a third rate planet and network. NBC never did allow to become hugely successful even though it lasted six seasons on television. The series first premiered after the Superbowl in 1996 and was brilliant from the moment the aliens disguised as humans landed on earth. The first season was only 13 episodes.This is the first full season with a cast such as Academy Award nominee John Lithgow as Dick Solomon (High Commander); Emmy Winner Kristen Johnston (Lieutenant); Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Senior Information Officer) and French Stewart (Transmitter Receiver). Emmy winner Jane Curtin played Dr. Mary Albright, Dick's love interest in the series. Elmarie Wendel (Mamie Dubcek) and Simba Khali (Nina) were added as regular cast members in the later season. Wayne Knight was terrific as Officer Don in the series and Sally's love interest. Ileen Getz was memorable as Judith.The guest cast included Randy Newman, Christine Baranski as Sonja, Senator Al Franken as a political candidate, Dennis Rodman, George Takei, Mark Hamill, Lorraine Newman, Jan Hooks played Vicki Dubchek, Harry Morgan, Jay Leno and others. The special features includes extras such as season highlights, a candid John Lithgow interview, TV spots, a 3D two episode finale, behind the scenes of the 3D episode and its bloopers. The DVD comes with a booklet and a 3D glasses. The series had the most memorable Thanksgiving episode ever.

Well, I saw NO mention of it in ANY-one's reviews --- and thereWEREN'Tany 3-D glasses included --- and I watched the first of the twoNIGHTMARE ON DICK STREET episodes to where the first of the FOUR(4) NIGHTMARES started. Well, I was disappointed that the dreamsweren't IN 3-D... until I put on some RED/BLUE 3-D glasses I had.Amazing! Freaking AMAZING! Somebody explain to ME how you can SEEsomething on your TV that DOESN'T appear to be 3-D, and yet cheapRED/BLUE lensed 3-D glasses turn it into something like in a REALtheater!HOW DOES THAT WORK?Amazing!Amazing! I have a 55" Sony 3D TV but NO 3D-Blue-Ray Player. The 3D was....I'm repeating myself, I know, but it was just......AMAZING!A-M-A-Z-I-N-G-!.M...............A..A.............M...Z...........A....I.........Z.....N......I......G...N........Gee, that THREE-DEE stuff was just fantastic; and WHO knew French Stewart could actually SING and Dance!I just MIGHT get a 3-D player for some of those OTHER 3-D movies that DO require a SPECIAL MACHINE AND GLASSES!

My purchase of season two, 3rd Rock from the Sun went brilliantly! It arrived quickly, in new condition as stated it would be and I couldn't be happier!! This was a wonderful purchase experience. I won't hesistate to buy from this seller again!

This is one of my favorite shows and it's I feel like it's completely underrated. It's about as close as American TV has ever gotten to sharp British humor. The show is smart, funny and all the characters are completely unlikeable, but you love them anyway.It's a shame that all we get on dvd, hulu, netflix are the syndicated versions. This DVD is the first time we get to see Season 2 uncut. I still think some of these episodes are cut however, seeing how the final episode was originally aired as one hour, but it's split into two episodes on the dvd. So, I think there is a bit of false advertising going on here.My only other complaint would be the episodes are very grainy and I don't know if that's just because that's how they are or it's bad dvd compression.

Been in hysterics ever since this DVD arrived --- oh the marvelous insanity of this crew of aliens from another galaxy trying to pass themselves off on Earth as a normal American family unit. The writing is suburb, the acting top rate, John Lithgow is outstanding as the crew's "high commander". Jane Curtain is a treasure to watch, and has never been fully appreciated for her excellent acting abilities.Check out a rather young Joseph Gordon-Levitt, already an accomplished actor. Kristen Johnston, as "Sally Solomon" is spectacular as a combination alien warrior and gorgeous human woman. Stewart French, as the crew's "transmitter" connects with the "Big Giant Head" in an hilarious pattern of movement reminiscent of the old dance "the Jerk".Hugely entertaining, funny, sweet.....get this DVD, and then the entire series for a great time.

As it says on the box, these episodes are uncut. Just wanted to get that out there.The packaging is the only thing wrong with this, as the disks aren't on their own little plastic holders. Theycome in paper sleeves, which has made a microscopic scratch on my DVD (the second one) so it skips near the last two episodes in my player. I haven't tried cleaning it yet, but I'm sure there's something out there thy will fix it up like new. I keep my disks in a CD case anyway, so i don't have to worry about the paper sleeves scratching them anymore.I'm a huge Harry (frenchstewart) fan, so i Amazon little depressed that the special features don't offer more Harry/Stewart areas. Maybe in the next seasons?

I have already written a review for the 3rd season of this series so there is really nothing more to add. It is funny, original and inventive, with all-round excellent performances from the whole cast. I can watch the series again and again and never get bored.

Absolutely great ideas & performed perfectly. As zany as zany can get! The cast have such a good time & the bloopers are the icing on the fun cake.I haven't laughed so much for ages!!

What is not to like about Third Rock from the Sun.Genuinely funny with some great acting from John Lithgow.Will rewatch many times.

This comedy appeals to all ages and John Lithgow is a genius in his portrayal of the alien. The rest of the cast are also perfect in their individual characters.

Brilliant series, I just watch it again and again. Very, very funny and just right for the dark winter evenings when you need cheering up!
