In a word this book is fantastic!
In a word this book is fantastic! We subscribe to my husband’s Wyoming hometown newspaper, The Lovell Chronicle. Recently there was an article about a book called “A Clear View of the Pryors.” Jack asked me to find this book. It is a must have for anyone who loves the Wild West and history. We were excited to see the copies of old newspaper articles almost 100 years old and more detail of the area of the Upper Bighorn Basin. Even though he hunted, fished, and camped in these mountains for twenty years, Jack feels he has learned so much more about them from this book. We are considering a trip back home with this book in hand. Thank you Jackie and Bret Marchant for this treasure.

good job! Larry
This is a book long overdue. Kudos to Bret, and honors to his mother's passion for recording the local history and legends. The Google images with place name notations are invaluable. One question begging an answer is: Which side canyon of "Chain Canyon"...the Pryor side or the Bighorn Mountain/Garvin Basin defile...actually had the eye bolts and chains to restrict access to the Garvin Basin? It all is under water now, and documentation might exist somewhere in the vaults of the Smithsonian, or in the knowledge of those whom Bret contacted.Again, good job!Larry Pointer
