Brilliant book!
If you are old enough to have been a part of the original goth scene (I was there in Boston), you will LOVE THIS.

Excellent read… except…
I’m enjoying this book but my problem is with the binding. Some pages are not attached at all and are completely coming out of the book once I turn the page. Hardcover should be an option.

Captivating read
A truly enjoyable and nostalgic journey into the world and history of the Goth. Took me right back to the mid-eighties when I frequented a multitude of nocturnal chambers with my fellow super freeze hairspray and crimper abusers. Delightful.

John Robb is the Goth Overlord 🖤
John Robb is thorough and enthusiastic on the twisty turny subject of Goth. He manages to weave in a historical aspect amongst gracious nods to the music pioneers and graveyard 🪦 dwellers of modern times. Astounding 🖤🪦🖤

Fantastica overview
Libro davvero interessante per chi ava cimentarsi in queste letture. Direttamente dall' autore che ne ha vissuto il periodo ed è riuscito a interpretarlo con successo. Bello

Very quick delivery
I ordered this yesterday morning and while the order originally said it would arrive on Friday it arrived in pristine condition this morning!!!. Amazing considering I ordered something from myers last week and it hasn’t even been packed yet. I look forward to starting my book tonight and taking a trip down memory lane

The Devil is in The Details...
When you think Goth, as least when I do, I think Bauhaus, Sisters of Mercy, drum machines, smoke, ghoulish makeup, black lipstick, jet black hair/dress & repetitive hypnotic beats. You get all that here, but you get even more. This baby is no 150 page light read. You have to dig in. It's like 600 pages plus another 150 pages of footnotes. I don't care about the makeup and the look, that was never my thing, all I know is I like the music. I listened to Seger, Miller, Foghat, Outlaws, Skynyrd, Foreigner, etc in the 70's. Played High School basketball. Hardly the Goth prototype. During the 80's I worked in a music store and a buddy of mine was all over Joy Division, The Cure, The Clash, The Fall, The Psychedelic Furs, The Cocteau Twins, The Durutti Column, This Mortal Coil, New Order, Echo and all the rest. Steered me in a completely different direction. If you want to trace the bloodlines of all of your favorite Goth stars, this is the tomb you want. It's pretty cool to kind of watch it all unfold. Some bands are more Goth than others, but they are all in there. Recommended if this genre is of interest to you.
